@NovBaby1112: yay for viability!! I also hope to stay around 30-35--I gained 32 with LO1 but exercised by whole pregnancy with him, and have NOT been doing that this time...so we'll see what happens.

@Mrs. Goose: when I Have BH contractions it is my whole stomach tightening/cramping. They have started much earlier this 2nd pregnancy than in my first.

@hilsy85: do your BH hurt at all? Mine do. But they only last maybe 20 seconds? I'm hoping they're just BH. They have picked up a little the past few days but I've also been pretty active.

@Mrs. Pickle: I wasn't sore with my first yet but I definitely am this time. Not sure how much is normal but glad to see it's not just me!

@natalie403: Ah, cool. Thanks for explaining why we need to see pediatric cardiologist. Do you mind commenting on this thread? http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/if-you-got-pregnant-through-ivf-did-you-have-to-see-a-pediatric-cardiologist#post-2206932

It does sound like it's something new that OBs are doing.

@2littlepumpkins: they are uncomfortable, but not painful. mine tend to come on especially if my bladder is full or I suddenly change positions.

@hilsy85: weirdly I think I have more while laying down. I woke up with one two nights ago. I will ask OB today but it makes me nervous.. Almost 24 weeks but this guy needs to stay in a lot longer than that!

Probably around 8-10 times in the past couple weeks my lower stomach has balled up really hard and usually goes away within 30 seconds or so. Absolutely no pain involved just uncomfortable. Is that what that is?! BH? I had no idea. Lol

So last night, baby girl (I think) was doing a lot of kicking. DH was able to feel her! He was so amazed and over the moon about it. He said seeing the ultrasound is cool and all but feeling the kicks was indescribable. It happened about 15 minutes after he put headphones on my belly. He took the photo originally to show his friend. It was Pantera (heavy metal) and I thought he was just doing it for show and not actually playing it. (He said the song wasn't exactly kid friendly.) Well, he lied to me and was playing it. Kinda annoyed but can't do much about it after the fact. Anyway, DH is convinced that our babies are now metal heads and he is so amazed that the babies could react to outside stimulation like that. He's so excited about all songs in his music collection that he could play them. DH is more into music and has a bigger collection then my pop music stash. Haha.

Oh, I did just google playing music on the belly and read about how the amniotic fluid could be amplifying.

    I found this link. http://www.babymed.com/pregnancy-safety/it-safe-put-headphones-your-belly-during-pregnancy
It actually says that you shouldn't play rap, heavy metal and some rock songs. Hmm, wonder if DH will stop playing those songs. I could compromise by letting him play those rockabye baby lullaby songs that are based off of current bands.

Oh, baby boy is less active but I did just feel some movement this morning.

@bluestriped bee: I had no idea twin moms could tell which baby was which! For me with a singleton everything just feels all over the place. That's awesome! And of course so cool for your dh!

@2littlepumpkins: At my last ultrasound, they said baby girl was on my right and baby boy on my left. I'm not sure if they move and how much they can move. I'll need to ask about that at my next appt.

  12. 2littlepumpkins

@bluestriped bee: ah I see! I wonder if they can totally swap places or if it depends on whether they're in their own sacs or what.

@bluestriped bee: I go to Yale which is research heavy so that may also play a factor. Happy to post there!! So jealous you are already feeling so much!! I feel some flutters that I assume are baby since I'm almost at 23 weeks but hard to say I feel like everyone I've known has done the headphones things with no problems so I wouldn't worry too much! Maybe babies will be extra musically talented when they come out

  14. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@2littlepumpkins: Yeah, each of my babies are in it's own sac. I'm sure if both were sharing a sac, it probably could be hard to determine which one was which. I'm curious to know if they can switch places, too.

@natalie403: That's so cool that you are going to Yale. My DH has a medical condition and we were sent to the local university for treatment. They were definitely on top of all the recent research in that field.
Yeah, I'm not too worried about the music. I think everything in moderation is okay. It would be cool to have musically inclined babies because I'm not. I played the clarinet in middle school but quit when I went to high school. DH is very knowledgeable in music trivia but I don't think he played any instruments in school.

I'm 24 weeks today and I'm off to take my 1hr glucose test. The fruit punch drink they gave me wasn't actually too bad to drink. Crossing my fingers I pass the test!

@bluestriped bee: Yay that your hubby felt movement and it must be cool to feel them separately. I got my husband to feel some kicks a few days ago-I am not crazy anymore! My friend came with me to my repeat ultrasound today where the lady said everything looked great and then when we were hanging out at home the baby was kicking and she got to feel it and was super excited.

@2littlepumpkins: @Bea: @hilsy85: Not sure if the BH are coming and going again, I find it really hard to tell if my tummy is just tight from being tight and stretched out with fluid and baby.

Glucose test in a few weeks, in July, at next appointment. Italy on Sunday and a healthy baby so far!-so very thankful and excited.

So I am likely delivering at a different hospital (same doctor) as my last baby so DH and I decided on a whim to go to the hospital tour last night, since we don't know if/when he will be available in the coming months, and there's a chance that I could go early due to my other stuff... and we saw the TEENIEST little baby in the nursery and being brought to his mom! AH! I can't believe we're gonna have one of those again. I can't believe ours was ever that little in the first place. (He appeared to be a full term seemingly healthy baby, not preemie tiny.)

@2littlepumpkins: eek I know! They seem so little whenever I see a newborn in our neighborhood now.

Got my glucose drink at my spot yesterday--I failed the 1 hour with LO1 so my OB said it is likely I will fail again. Boo! I am not looking forward to the 3 hour...everything else looked good though, I feel like this is the "boring" part of prrgnancy when time starts to drag by.@renee0106: hope you passed!@bluestriped bee: how great that your DH is finally feeling movement!!

@Hilsy85: I did pass! Maybe you'll get lucky and pass the 1hr one this time.

  21. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@hilsy85: what's the difference with the three hour one? You just wait longer/a different drink? My OB's office does them so you drink at home, let them know what time you did it, and they draw blood an hour later at your appointment or before it. Good luck! You never know, you could pass!

I don't know if this is because my stomach has been all messed up and its feeling better but I am suddenly SO hungry and having to watch my calories. A good problem to have but caught me off guard! I've been craving those terribly unhealthy frosted sugar cookies you can buy at target or the grocery store.

@renee0106: Glad you passed your glucose test! What flavor did you get? Glad the taste wasn't that bad.

@Mrs. Goose: Thanks. Oh, we could only feel baby girl but not baby boy yet. I have noticed he has been active but not as active as our girl. I'm hoping our boy gets more active so I can have DH feel him. Oh, I can't wait till I can feel them both.
Oh, have a wonderful time in Italy! You have to post some pic of your trip.

@2littlepumpkins: Just curious, why do you have to deliver at a different hospital? Does this other hospital have a nicu or something?
We need to do a tour of the hospital we want to deliver at. It must have been so cool to be around a nursery and see babies again.

@hilsy85: Aww, I'm sorry you failed your 1 hr glucose test. So when will your 3 hr test be? Did you have GD with LO1?

@2littlepumpkins: I googled the glucose screen test because I was curious about it, too. I found this link. http://www.babycenter.com/0_glucose-screening-and-glucose-tolerance-tests_1483.bc?page=2

Sounds like for the 3 hr test you take the drink and get blood drawn every hour. Just thinking of it make me wonder if the hardest part of it is waiting around.

@2littlepumpkins: omg those frosted cookies are the best!! I'm hungry all the time too.

I had a slight scare this AM - woke up and my stomach was SO sore, it felt like a contraction that wouldn't go away...I couldn't touch my stomach, couldn't move, couldn't get up...I had to get Dh to basically roll me out of bed. As soon as I stood up I felt completely fine so went to work like normal. But it is my schools activity day - long walks, hot sun, out in the park all day with nowhere to sit...I quickly became very nauseous and dizzy so my principal sent me home. I'm now lying down in the AC feeling MUCH better, snuggled up with my dog. Tomorrows my last day of work before mat leave, so I am looking forward to that!! This has been such an easy pregnancy that I was taken aback at how quickly I became ill today.

@2littlepumpkins: I think it's a different drink and you need to be at the office for 3 hours to have your blood drawn every hour. My ob also does the 1 hour test the same way--I have to finish the drink an hour before I get to my appt and they draw blood.

@bluestriped bee: I failed my 1 hour with LO1, so my ob said it's likely I will fail this 1 hour too. I did pass the 3 hour last time, so hopefully the same thing happens. I will prob have to do the 3 hour the week after the 1 hour. The hardest part is the waiting (so boring!), but also I felt SO CRAPPY after the 3 hour--I felt fine after the 1 hour, but during/after the 3 hour I was dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous--it was awful.

I had a pretty intense morning too. I went in for my 24 week appointment and had an growth scan too. After my 20 week appointment and anatomy scan I was confused why my doctor ordered another ultrasound, but just thought it was routine. Well during the scan the tech asked if this was a follow up for the cyst. My husband and I asked her what cyst. Baby had a Choroid Plexis Cyst on her brain at the last scan and my doctor didn't mention it! The tech told me it was common and they usually resolve themselves. Fortunately it has and is no longer there. She also told me it doesn't effect brain development in any way. The tech couldn't believe my doctor didn't tell me about it and felt bad for being the one to do it.

The rest of my appointment was routine. I got a prescription for a breast pump and lab orders for the glucose test. Next time I'll be getting the rhogram shot. And no more ultrasounds.

  37. 2littlepumpkins

@bluestriped bee: a few reasons. If I go early I 100% have to go there because they have a level 3 nicu and the other one doesn't have a nicu at all. (I was on different insurance the first time and didn't have a choice.) Also we now live I think less than a mile from the new one. Also because there's a chance that a c section could trigger more of the stuff I've been dealing with, it's better to be there because my other two specialists are there.

@Charm54: seriously! I could eat those things all day... Was a little embarassed at my taste in baked goods after seeing some HB posts with much more elaborate stuff lol. Glad you're off soon, that sounds like a lot if you're uncomfortable!

@Mrs. Pickle: that's scary! But I'm so glad everything is ok!

@hilsy85: that's a bummer especially if you have to bring lo1 with you. My dd made quite he scene the other day at the OB office. Luckily we were among the last there and at the end she was chatty and making everyone laugh.. Before that..eek.

  38. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@2littlepumpkins: Ahh, yeah, good reasons. The closest hospital to us is a level 3 nicu and it's about a 10 minute drive from our house. It's also newly renovated so it's a nice hospital. There are a few larger hospitals around us but the commute would be 30-60 minutes away from home. The one that is 60 minutes away is associated with a big university out here, so I might get better care and maybe have better treatments if something goes wrong.

  39. BSB

@Mrs. Pickle: Yeah, I wonder why your OB didn't mention it.

  40. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@bluestriped bee: we are sort of playing it by ear. The good thing is the "nicer" one is the closer one but having already done this at the older hospital I did really like the people there and it's where my OBs office is. (But seriously, no private shower...) So we'll see. Probably will go to the newer/closer one though. Hopefully your twins continue to do well and don't need anything extensive. Do they move you to the university hospital in the even that the twins need care there?
