I have a meeting at work where I will be meeting lots of people for the 1st time - as a woman do you think pants are more professional or is a skirt ok? Both would be worn with a blazer.

Either one works great! I think nice dress pants with heels looks awesome. Not like I ever wear that style but I think it looks great on the people who do!

@Mamaof2: I tend to go for a dress or skirt in this type of situation but that is just because I feel better in them, more confident. I have a number of pant suits but I am not as comfortable in them.
ETA: I still wear a blazer with the dress (i.e. black dress and grey tweed blazer)

I think either would work, I tend to feel better about myself when I am wearing a skirt as opposed to pants, but that's just because all my pants fit like crap right now.

Depends which combo you feel better about yourself in! If you are wear stockings under just make sure there are no holes

Both can be professional so I'd go with whatever makes you feel the best.
I'm a pants person, but I wish I had work skirts!

You are fine either way.
I usually wear a skirt suit to interviews just because I feel more confident in a skirt and heels, but I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as you look professional (I have an interview today and am wearing pants...).
