I feel like this is a stupid question...
I've toured some Montessori facilities this week. Most of them close for winter vacation, march break (some have "camps") and offer a summer program. I think I expected for really little ones it would be more like daycare - all year round.
Is this normal?

My mom was a Montessori teacher and that one she worked at followed a school year schedule. I think they did offer before and after school care but it wasn't much.
The local Montessori schools where I currently live also follows a school schedule, but I think one offers a summer camp.

LO will be attending a Montessori school in the fall. I believe they aren't closed during winter/March break, They are done their regular program in June and have a summer program in the summer months (more field trips and play). Parents are allowed to opt out in the summer without losing their spot for the next school year.

My LO goes to Montessori (he is 2.5) and it follows a school-type schedule. And they close for a week before summer camp and a week before school restarts.

This sounds like our Montessori school so yes, normal for us.

Yep. totally normal, at least in this area. Follow the school year.

Our daycare is Montessori, so it's full day, all year round. There is no option for a school schedule (i.e. if you enroll, you are expected to keep your child in through the summer). I think the difference is that it is literally called a daycare, not a school. Ours is infants through preschool (even preschool level is a full-day daycare).
