Just curious, spinning off @Kaliopey's recent thread! Out of all the gifts you received, total, about what percentage were from your registry and what percentage were not? Any factors you think that influenced this?
**This does not include "hand-me-downs"; while they may have been very thoughtful /generous; I just don't think that quite fits with the question

Can't wait to see the results! My shower is Saturday and right now, only a couple of registry gifts have been purchased. The bulk of the registry is on Amazon and I also have a small BRU registry. The BRU is almost gone, so maybe people don't like buying online? I'll report back!

I said 20% registry stuff. I did get some of the big stuff, which was really nice (monitor, mattress, car seat). But mostly people got us handmade stuff, TONS of clothes (I registered for none), extra blankets (I registered for none), and assorted randomness. I thought I got way too many clothes but my kid actually ended up wearing most of them and I was grateful for them! I can't really think of anything I got that we didn't end up using.

We had an out of state shower where we asked people to ship large gifts to our home across the country. We flew home for our shower. (We registered at Babylist.com and allowed us to put items from Amazon, BBB, BRU, Target, IKEA, etsy where shipping was mostly free.)
We didn't know what to expect but thought since we are having twins that people would buy us clothes because it was light enough to put in our luggage.
We did get a bunch of things off our registry but it was more in the 25-30% range. Ehh, actually maybe it was closer to the 35-40% range. We got double stroller, baby monitors, both car seats, swing, twin pack and play, rock n play, umbrella strollers, baby thermometer, an IKEA gift card which would get us one of our cribs or ikea baby gear, I got BRU gift cards and cash.
So with all the gift cards and cash, I would say we can get about 60% or more of our registry.
As for all the clothes we got, we will definitely use them all. I actually think we still might need more clothes but I'm buying more from fellow twin moms.
ETA: my percentage keeps getting bumped up because some of the stuff on our registry are smaller (less costly) items left but overall, we are so blessed at all the gifts we received. (Oh, also, I have been adding things to our list to buy so I can take advantage of the completion discount.)
I do have to say that my brother and SIL handed down their city select stroller with second seat and accessories and that alone cost them $700 or more to buy. I registered for a cheaper double stroller because I couldn't see myself putting somethung that expensive on our registry when there was a cheaper stroller available. I am so truly thankful for the hand me downs as well.

80% registry. I registered at BRU for this reason. I'm not a fan of the store but I knew it would be the easiest for people to purchase from.

We were about 60/40 but some of the best things we got ended up being off registry. The rock n play, some A&A bibs and beautiful handmade quilts.

I voted wrong. I said half and half but closer to 60/40 in favor of registry. we were team green so we got very few clothes which I was really happy about. The people who went of registry were either older friends of our parents who did things like hand made blankets, and my new mom friends who bought me things they loved for their kids (which I really appreciated since it was all new to me!)

People really stuck to the registry for me. I would say 80% of our gifts at the shower were from the registry. I found people went off registry and went more personalized when they bought a gift when they met him.

At my shower it was mostly registry-80% maybe? We were team green so I think that cuts down on a lot of the cute clothes impulses (though that isn't why we did it!). Then after she was born we ended up getting a ton of clothes given to us, which I really wasn't expecting at all but was much appreciated since we had no girl clothes. In the end I guess it was maybe 60% registry? We did use most of it or were able to return a lot. A handful of things just never fit in the right season or whatever and I've regifted some.

I got about 5% off my registry. Maybe 2 things. But my mom purchased our crib and my MIL gave us our travel system as a Christmas gift. Neither of those big ticket things were on my registry because our moms wanted to treat us to them.

If guess probably 50/50. Maybe as much as 60/40 in favor of the registry. But we still had plenty we bought ourselves in the end.

@Foodnerd81: oh man. When our LO was born people were so excited that she was a girl and sent us SO MUCH PINK SHIT. It looked like a princess exploded in our house.

I said 60% because we got a lot of clothes and blankets, but in reality anyone who bought things that were not on the registry either got us an additional present that was on the registry or a gift card. Very few (like 2-3) people got us just a non-registry gift. I found uses for most things. We used extra receiving blankets as burp rags because our LO1 had terrible reflux. The outfits that weren't my taste went to daycare or in the diaper bag as a back up outfit. The things that were out of season didn't get worn however we had LO2 in the opposite season and they are both girls so now we are getting use out of those items. I will say our friends and family were so generous when we had LO1 and I am so grateful, but we have received almost nothing for LO2. (Which is totally fine, we didn't have a shower or a registry for #2, just thought it was a little surprising)

I voted 80% registry. Most of the homemade or non-registry gifts I got were from non-shower guests (e.g. my mom's friends, co workers, etc).

I said 50/50. I had a really small registry that didn't include any clothes, blankets, or feeding items so that's a big reason why so much was not from the registry. I was only picky about higher dollar items.

Less than 20% registry. Way less, but mostly cash and clothes from an out of state shower so we got the stuff off the registry with the completion coupon and it worked out. The in state shower someone told people the wrong store and only one family got us stuff of the registry. We had a short registry anyway knowing one shower was out of state.

80% registry. I had a really small shower (12 people) and I think every single person bought registry gifts. Non registry gifts were from people not invited to the shower like family, family friends and friends living far away.

I voted 20% but it was far less. I had been given a lot of second hand stuff and didn't need much so my registry was small to begin with. I also had a very small shower 15 people). I got a lot of beautiful handmade items.

Surprisingly, most people stuck to our registry, even though the might not have scanned the registry prior to checking out (we had some dupes)! I was pretty happy about that.

I really can't remember, to be honest! It was a mix of registry items, friend's favorites, cute things they couldn't resist, homemade items. I guess it would be more from the registry.
My two showers (one with friends, one with just 5 family members at a coffee shop) were both small, intimate, and casual. I think who you invite (close friends versus work friends, acquaintances, etc.,) affects the present you will receive and whether they're comfortable ordering online or feel like they must go to a store instead.

Less than 20 percent registry, which was unfortunate because we.really needed the things on our registry. We actually received almost all "fun" clothing, which was adorable and much appreciated but I ended up even having to buy basic clothing like onesies

At our shower it was mostly registry gifts and money. I think we had two people give items that were not on our registry (out of 60ish people at our shower.) However, we also got a bunch of gifts from people not invited to our shower and then gifts after the baby was born and those were all not on the registry. People have been very generous.
