This wasn't ever a fear of mine because DH is the most patient person I know!! I was surprised at how patient I became after having kids though.

My husband is a very impatient person. It still shows up to some degree but honestly he is wonderful with our son so long as sleep deprivation or MON wake ups aren't involved. He is a bear without sleep. He has improved some there though as well. I think it will be goo for your husband. Can't wait for your BFP!!!

I'm the impatient one in our relationship and I can honestly say that I have grown so much in this area since having children.

My DH is also infinitely patient. I was worried I wouldn't be as patient. As it turns out, DD has shown me I have WAY more patience than I ever could have imagined. I empathise with her a lot when she's grumpy which definitely helps: "I know! Baby! I'm grumpy too - Neither of us have slept/Your teeth hurt/ you want all the hugs"

@bluestriped bee: Honestly, I really wasn't sure how my husband would be as a dad. We were never really around kids but then when his best friend had a daughter, I saw how good he was with her.

He is the most amazing dad to our 18 month old son, who is such a daddy's boy. It's so great to see, I love their bond!

Before DS was born DH was a little worried about his ability to be patient. I told him I used our dog as a way to practice being patient. She's a good dog, but still a dog .

Now that DS is here (and has been a while) DH's patience is great I think. It's not perfect, he still has his moment, as do I. And usually he just loses it at things that would drive anyone crazy. For example, D is currently in a shrieking phase. Happy, sad, stuck in his cozy coupe, everything gets an ear-piercing shriek.

@bluestriped bee: Patience was one of the things I worried about, but it was also combined with me being nervous that, knowing our entire lives were about to be turned upside down, that my husband would panic or be too nervous. He had zero experience with babies. I had a decent amount of experience with babies and I was panicking a bit! All that was for nought, though-he fell for our baby hook, line, and sinker from the second he saw him. And yes, we both have our moments where we're frustrated/our nerves are fried as parents of a newborn, but the overwhelming love trumps any impatience you might feel. We've both spoken about how we love our *real* baby far more than the theoretical one we talked about pre-pregnancy, or even when we imagined what it would be like when I was actually pregnant. Once your baby/babies are here, you'll both find your inner patience! To answer your last question, too...yes, he surprised me in the best possible way with how he interacts with and feels about our baby!
