Does anyone have experience with RhoGAM? I'm between 5 and 6 weeks and started bleeding. Still unsure what the outcome of the bleeding will be 
but I also learned when I talked to the on-call doctor that I'm Rh negative and since my husband is Rh+ it will be important to get a RhoGAM shot when the clinic reopens tomorrow. Then I will need them at regular intervals in any future pregnancies. I remember reading a super sad birth story about a case where the RhoGAM didn't work and the woman's child had horrible complications. I'm curious about people's experiences with Rh- mom and Rh+ baby - were future pregnancies fine or were there additional complications?

No personal experience but my best friend is in the same blood type situation as you and the Rhogam worked fine for her! I'm sorry to hear that you're bleeding. Thinking of you.

That's great to hear that it worked for your friend. I'm super glad my clinic checked for blood type with my betas as I had no idea I was Rh - . It sucks that this pregnancy is most likely not viable but would have been much, much worse if I hadn't known to get RhoGAM and that made future pregnancies complicated or non-viable.

I had the same with both of my pregnancies. Off and on bleeding that lasted my first trimester with my first pregnancy and a SCH with bleeding in my second pregnancy.
The shots really aren't too bad, but they were kind of a pain to do because it's not something that can be done in my OB's office. I'd say that the soreness was a tad worse than other shots and once or twice I did feel a bit flu-like (achy and tired). As far as the effectiveness of it, no issues.

@periwinklebee: I'm so sorry you are bleeding! Is it a lot of blood? Do you have cramping? I have read of a lot of women that bleed during their first tri and they went on to have healthy babies. When you called your doctor did they want you to follow up with betas or anything?

I am RH negative and just got one shot with each pregnancy. I did have bleeding with this one at about 8 weeks that was BC of sex. I did not have to have a shot with that as they didn't believe it was related to the baby.
DS is RH negative as well so didn't have to get a shot at delivery. 34 weeks with DD.Hope the bleeding isnt anything major!

I'm RH negative. I got the Rhogam at 28 weeks and didn't have to get it at delivery because DD is RH negative as well. I had a prior chemical pregnancy where I didn't get the Rhogam. Didn't even think about it at the time but I don't think they do it for those any way.

No cramping - not a ton of blood but pretty visible in the toilet and on the tp. The doctor I talked with said about a 1 and 3 chance it's fine and a 2 in 3 chance of a miscarriage. The clinic is closed for MLK day but they'll do an ultrasound tomorrow. @periwinkle I'm in the same situation as you. I'm rhneg and dh is rhpos. For my last pregnancy I got the shot at 28 weeks then again during delivery I think or maybe it the high 30s. Shoot I don't know but it was no biggie. I had no bleeding that pregnancy it was all just preventative. I'll do the same this go around. I'm 18 weeks. Good luck!

I'm RH - and required shots during my pregnancies. I didn't bleed at all with my DS1 pregnancy, so I only got the shot @28 weeks. I had placenta previa with DS2, and I bled often so I think I got the shot 2-3 times. It lasts for a certain number of weeks.

I'm the same - I had to get shots when I miscarried, at 28 weeks and after birth with my first son, and the same with my second son plus at 8 weeks due to bleeding. It was totally fine.

With DD I had RHogam at 28w and after delivery. I had a mc that ended with d&c where I had rhogam at 10w with spotting and again after the D&C. With DS I had bleeding at 6w and got rhogam again, and then at 28w and delivery. But both successful pregnancies babies were healthy and RH+ blood types.

I'm RH-, and it's no big deal as long as you get the shots. I honestly can't remember exactly the timing, but I feel like there was one around the beginning of the third trimester and then another one in the hospital after delivery. As long as you have the rhogram shots, there's nothing to worry about.

@periwinklebee: yes! I always tell my husband that for so many reasons, 100 years ago, I would have died in childbirth, but with modern medicine my pregnancies and deliveries haven't even been a blip in the radar of unusual complications!

I'm RH- and had no complications with either of my pregnancies. Both times I had early bleeding and had to get the Rhogam shot. Then you get it again around 28 weeks. And a final time right after birth. It's not a big deal these days!

@Mrs. Blue: It's amazing when you think about it how recently there have been massive improvements in maternal (and infant) mortality - so glad I live today, and in a place where - despite there being some room for improvement - there is very good access to modern medicine!
