Any experience?

We are applying for E's school place.... The local school is excellent (she attends the nursery class there) but we are eight front doors out of the catchment area. The school we are in the catchment area for is further away, terrible parking and not a great school. We will of course put her down for the local school, but it depends how many children her age live in the catchment area and we may not get a place. We need to choose a second choice.....

There is another school nearby that is also rated good and I love the ethos of the school BUT it is a Church of England school, with worship assemblies etc. I'm actually a very lapsed Christian (agnostic now) but my DH is a staunch atheist and is very concerned about them teaching our daughter what he considers nonsense.

Thoughts? Will she come home spouting "God is love"? And is that a problem? I would just go with it.... learning about Christianity as though it is pure fact never did me any harm or caused any confusion (or hatred of science!) ..... But DH disagrees.....
