I've already done a few posts about daycare, but I'm putting this one in sleep because that's where most of the impact of daycare seems to be showing itself!! My son is 10.5 months old, and has been more or less consistently sleeping through since he was 6.5 months. I went back to work then, but he had a nanny in home who got him on an amazing routine and who he loved, I'm pretty sure, more than me. Around christmas we travelled home to Canada from Australia so there was jet lag, and he went back to waking up once a night on average for the month we were there. He got an ear infection when we got back, and that affected his sleep as well. We finally had 2/3 nights of back to sleeping through, and then we put him in daycare. He's now having a massive regression and waking after every sleep cycle, for naps and nighttime. We have to shush and pat him back to sleep every time, but it only buys us about 45 minutes. We sleep trained around 6 months and he got the picture in 1 or 2 nights. We've let him cry a couple of times on this go around and he just goes and goes and goes. We let him cry 30 minutes last night before I slept with him in his room - but even that didn't work, he still woke every 45 minutes, but didn't fuss as much cause I was right beside him.
ANYWAY - if you are a CIO-er, would you stay strong and let him cry it out, even if it might take hours? Would you keep co-sleeping and hope it improves? What would you do? I'm on night 2 of no sleep and I'm dying.
