@MamaCate: Hoping your temp jump is a sign of good things! Will you be testing before you head to your conference?

@LindsayInNY: I can't remember, did you test out your trigger? I'm sorry you're in a funk. It really is so hard, especially when there are family get togethers to navigate. Can you fake drink at the wedding to help dodge the prying questions? That's my only solution, I just hold up my glass and answer "I like booze" when people ask us when we're having kids.

    Hey girls.

I'm still only sporadically checking in.

But I'm 90% sure AF is here. I've had spotting the last few days and it was heavier earlier today (it's due tomorrow).

BUT...I would see this month as a success in the "letting go" department. I think I only used two HPTs during the TWW, and because I wanted to go out drinking and wanted to make sure.

DH and I have next Monday off for our EDD. I don't know what we're doing with, but hopefully it's something busy but low key (maybe pedicures and a nice lunch/dinner?)

I'm mostly looking forward to my appointment Oct. 1 to hopefully get some answers/next steps form my OBGYN

So my check in: I'm still having heavy spotting and tons of cramping. This morning my wondfo was definitely a little darker than yesterday's, but the FRER was only slightly darker. And I just got my results from this morning's blood test, beta was 102, but P4 only 7.78 when they usually look for a 10. I didn't take my progesterone Sunday night, since I was sure I was out, but did start back up again last night just in case, so maybe my levels will bounce back. Next beta will be Thursday and I suppose those results will be more telling. Until then, back goes my head in the sand. I'm way too terrified of dealing with another miscarriage / feeling numb to the whole process to let myself feel hopeful yet. Avoiding negative thoughts is the best I can do right now.

@Sprite: Oh! I meant to comment that I have a friend (that's better than a "friend of a friend" right?) who had IB so heavy she went to the ER not knowing what was wrong. And her baby is super healthy and adorable!

I'll keep thinking about you! Hopefully Thursday comes soon

@MaryM: I'm happy to hear your success with letting go. That is a big step and so much easier said than done. I hope you and your DH find something enjoyable to do to make your EDD easier. Mine will be coming up in November and I am dreading it, so I like your idea of taking the day off to keep busy.

Hello all, sorry for my sporadic checking in this past week! I just started subbing and my days have been a blur!!

@Sprite: Fx hard for you right now!!!

@LindsayInNY: HUGS!! Bad days are inevitable, I've had a few myself lately.

I'm confused with my body right now! This cycle is supposed to be my first Clomid (100mg) + IUI cycle. Today is CD14, I've had three mornings/afternoons in a row of a flashing smiley face, but confused because I wasn't feeling any ovulation symptoms yet. Then, this afternoon, I started feeling symptoms...mostly cramps in my ovaries. I definitely have EWCM. But I tested with CB OPK and got a negative test, no flashing smiley. WTH? I'm so confused/frustrated/stressed. I guess we'll see what tomorrow morning brings! Oh, and I had a temp dip this morning! I hope I'm not missing it!!!

@Sprite: I don't test until I am late so not planning on it. I am not that confident in my chart due to travel and craziness so all the more reason to wait.

Hoping for good news on your betas later this week!

@LindsayInNY: fro yo sounds like a great treat! Or a non food treat--target earrings!?

@sarahnicole218: Are you being monitored or just to call and schedule IUI when you get a positive?

@MamaCate: I exercised self-control with the ice cream. For now, lol. Coming home to DH and the dog helped though!

  12. Miss Sarah

    persimmon / 1259 posts

@LindsayInNY: Unfortunately, not monitored this month, but I think it's just because it's my first IUI and if this one doesn't take, we'll take the next steps next cycle. I have been ovulating on my own the last two cycles, so we were thinking it would be as simple as going in on my ovulation day, but we shall see!

  13. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@sarahnicole218: So how do they know when to do the IUI? Or if the Clomid dose is proper slash if you're responding?

  14. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@sarahnicole218: sometimes I have a dip right before O, so maybe you are ovulating today/tomorrow. FX!

@Sprite: I am keeping my fingers crossed so hard for you! Big, huge hugs.

@MaryM: I'm so happy you've been able to let go a little bit. I hope that your wtf appt gets you some answers soon.

@LindsayInNY: I've been having "one of those days" for weeks now. Big hugs. Please know I am always here for you... Wall me anytime

  15. Miss Sarah

    persimmon / 1259 posts

@LindsayInNY: I am supposed to call when I get my OPK+ and they will do the IUI the following morning. But I'm a little frustrated with the process and plan to talk to my doctor about this for future cycles.

  16. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@sarahnicole218: Ahh, I gotcha. I've heard of others doing the same. I don't know if you've seen other posts on here talking about Clomid when you're not being monitored... There is some concerns with that alone. But I would hate to rely on an OPK in case I missed it! Maybe try doing it twice a day? I'd lose my mind lol!

I started spotting today. CD26 (likely 11DPO but I hadn't temped). I have lost track of cycles, but I think we're now onto 19. DH was great- he is NOT a planner, and he told me that I wanted a plan, that we would start femara this cycle and to make an appointment with the new doctor to discuss an HSG. We might hold off until January due to insurance, but we will see what she says. I am leaning toward stress impacting ovulation/LP.

On a happy note, I used goodrx to pay for the femara, and it only cost $13.90! Yea! For those of you not familiar with goodrx, it is a savings program you can use if your insurance doesn't cover something or you have a high deductible plan.

Who has been on femara? Any tips? I am supposed to start on CD3, though my doc said some people don't start til CD5. I think I count CD1 as the first day I need a pantyliner, correct? Do I take it in the morning or at night? I have a wedding to go to this weekend, and am a little nervous about the side effects.

Can anyone explain how the hell such a tiny organ can cause SO MUCH pain?? Ugh!

Hello everyone! I have only posted sporadically here before but here I am on CD 1 after 25 cycles Currently doing femara+ovidrel+IUI for 1 more cycle

@AmeliaBedilia: I have been taking Femara days 3-7. Usually on CD3 I go in for bloodwork, and then if all looks ok the nurse tells me to start taking it that night. I try to keep taking the next doses at around the same time. The only side effects I have noticed are slight irritability (but who knows if this is the femara, my Dr said this could just be blamed on ttc haha) and a little bit of bloating around my stomach but altogether not bad at all!

  21. LindsayInNY

Can't tag everyone on my phone right now but so so sorry for those out or in limbo. ((Hugs)).

I had my HSG yesterday. Worked myself into a tizzy reading all the horror stories. Well, it isn't hurt at all! Just felt warm heat. Took all of 3 min, and I kept asking her was that it!?! She told me to go write a positive review online lol. Tubes are clear. She said I'm passing all my tests. Dh does his SA next week. She also said the test tends to increase fertility for next 3 cycles, so get busy after 24hrs!

@Sprite: good luck on your beta tomorrow!
@AmeliaBedilia: thanks for the tip on goodrx & good luck with femara. I'm going to be starting it next cycle, myself. I don't know anything about it yet, but am kind of excited to start getting serious here.
@MaryM: sorry about AF today & cramps... As if it weren't bad enough, huh?
@dc yoga bee: I'm glad your HSG was easy! Good luck with whatever comes next for you! Will you have a follow up soon with the RE to review all the tests you & DH will have gotten done?

AFM, not a lot going on... Just trying to get through this tww. Only at 8dpo, so trying to be patient. I don't have super high hopes for a + this month, but it'd be great if it happened since we are ramping up to start my first medicated cycle. I do feel like I have slightly sore boobs yesterday & today... But trying not to make too much of that.

@ttcgirl: welcome! I hope that this cycle is the lucky one for you! What a long road you have been on.

@dc yoga bee: glad to hear the hsg was smooth and uneventful! So glad things are going well with the new RE too!

@AmeliaBedilia: happy to see that you have a plan in spite if AF arriving! Hugs to you! As far as CD1, TCOYF says it is the first day of red bleeding in case that helps or makes you more confused!

  25. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@GoGoSnoGirl: she reviews the tests with me immediately afterwards. Since I was able to do the bloodwork, ultrasound, and HSG all in this cycle we can immediately start treatment next cycle. She thinks it may be a weak ovulation problem, so I'll be trying Clomid next cycle. Also, DH SA is next Wednesday so maybe he is the problem.

    Hi, sorry I've been MIA.
After being home for a week I had to catch up on work.
Trying to decide wether I hate the TWW or the wait to ovulate more... but at least there is wine in the latter!
And this month our timing can not be the best
I started temping, but I think I need a new thermometer - with memory function, as I normally wake up during the night, take my temp but can't remember it the next morning

@busylizzy111: I always wake up between 2a & 4a, so I temp & go back to sleep. I have one with memory & it's a great feature. I kinda wish mine remembered more than just the last temp, even. I think I got mine at Target.

  30. GoGoSnoGirl

@busylizzy111: oh, one down side to this one, though, is that it only displays the previous temp for a second, then it reverts to "normal" 98.6 for another second, then will start recording or reads "lo" if it's just reading ambient air temperature. I have to make sure my eyes have adjusted & there's no glare on the screen before I turn it on to read my last temp or I'll miss it. So, really, mine's actually a little annoying, the more that I think about it. Lol!

@sarahnicole218: how are your OPKs looking?

@AmeliaBedilia: I hope the femara is kind to you. I only did it one cycle, combined with injections, and it did a number on my lining. But there were a lot less side effects than with the 5 times I tried clomid. Good luck!

@MaryM: sorry to hear about the pain. Solidarity!

    @ttcgirl: welcome and good luck!

@dc yoga bee: that is so awesome your HSG was painless (I'm jealous!) and that things are clear. Hope it is a sign of good things to come!

@GoGoSnoGirl: sending you lots of patient, positive thoughts during your wait!

@busylizzy111: sending you lots of luck as well. And yes, a BBT with the memory function is so worth it. A lot of us have used the 3M one from Amazon with great results!

And for my update: bad news, but with a silver lining. As I knew it would based on fading home tests, my beta came back today at 16 (down from 102 on Tues). But I'm ok, really. I knew this was where it was headed, and did a good job of protecting myself and not getting any hopes up. Mostly I was just pissed off at the thought of wasting more time before we could try again, since my last two cycles were way long and had to be induced. BUT! That is the silver lining. Because I'm on the tail end of what looked and felt like a normal period and my beta had dropped so much, they called me back into the office for a baseline at lunchtime. Things look alright, so we are going to call today CD3 and start injections tonight (thank god I have one dose left over from last cycle to use tonight!). Same protocol as last time, 9-10 days of stims, trigger and IUI. We'll also do a repeat beta on Monday just to confirm things have dropped to zero, but considering how fast they've already dropped in the past two days, I'm pretty confident it will be back down well before Monday.

So, it sucks, but really, I was already over it when I only got very faint lines on yesterday's HPT. At least we have the right doses, eggs are happening and sperm are meeting them, so there is hope for future cycles. And I really prefer feeling hopeful right now over the alternatives!

@Sprite: I admire your positivity, thank you for being a shining light for all of us! To answer your question about my OPKs, they are still the flashing smiley...however, I can actually feel my ovaries cramping now, so I bet I get a positive tomorrow morning! Which means I would be ovulating the same time of the month that I did last time I took Clomid (100mg) back in February/March and that makes me happy because I would know what to expect should we have more cycles using Clomid + IUI.

@AmeliaBedilia: HUGS to you friend. You have a good plan going forward, and yay for a supportive DH! Good things are coming your way!

Another flashing smiley this morning....ERRRRGGHHH! I have ovarian cramps, HSO cervix, and EWCM. The most frustrating thing for us is that since we got the first flashing smiley, we've been abstaining for our IUI. Ha, well, last night I just told DH screw it and we did BD. I'm going to test again on my lunch break, and again after work if no solid yet. So confused now! But I want to be able to call my OB and schedule my IUI this weekend, hopefully!

  39. AmeliaBedilia

    nectarine / 2192 posts

    @sarahnicole218: Thanks! for you!

Last night, DH told me that one of his best friends (who has one child and is usually a great guy) made a comment about us having kids and that "he was being a jerk, and even more if he had known that we were trying." He wouldn't tell me what it was. I know it is because he is trying to protect me, but now I am sooooooo curious. Then I dreamt that DH told me that every little thing about kids bugged him the same way it does me, and he also told me what his friend said. I so want to know!

Praise the Lord and Hallelujah! The flashing smileys have stopped torturing me! I got my solid smiley this morning and I found it so exciting that I can't sleep in at all, haha. Yesterday, the nurse practitioner from my OB office called me and gave me contact info for her in case I got my surge today, so I'll be calling her later to schedule my first IUI for tomorrow! I'm nervous, but also very excited!
