I usually use the Nestle Toll House recipe for chocolate chip and for oatmeal raisin I use the recipe inside the Quaker oats package. Not very creative but they are always good!

These are my Christmas Crack. My 2 year old helped me make them this year. We put the graham crackers in a zip lock bag that she helped me bang on until we realized we needed a little more help making the crumbs. She then helped me use the food processor (I let her do the pulsing) to crush them.

I put everything in deep bowls when baking with kids so it isn't as messy when they help stir.

HOLIDAY TREASURE COOKIES
Prep. 15' Bake 7-9 min.

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened or melted (doesn't matter)
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1 1/3 cups coconut flakes
1 3/4 cups (10 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup M&M's

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Stir together graham cracker crumbs, flour, and baking powder in a medium bowl. Set aside.

2. Beat condensed milk and butter smooth; add reserved crumb mixture, mixing well. Stir in coconut flakes, mini kisses, and holiday bits. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

3. Bake 7 to 9 minutes until lightly browned. Cool 1 minute, remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

Ingredients
1½ cup flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
¾ cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 small pkg instant vanilla pudding

Instructions
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy; gently beat in eggs.
Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and vanilla pudding mix in a separate bowl.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet.
Stir in vanilla.
Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.

We made these last night - easy and fun to make!

Since you're going to be doing this with kids, I say the easier the better.

The pretzel hershey kiss one is my favorite.

You need 1 bag of pretzel squares. NOT the butter snaps.
1 12 oz bag of hersey kisses (I like the hershey hugs since it's white chocolate and milk chocolate)
1 bag of mini christmas (green & red) m&ms.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Lay out however many pretzels as you want to make on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Top each one with a kiss or hug (unwrapped). bake for 4-5 minutes until shiny and soft. Carefully top each one with a M&M and press slightly to fill out the pretzel. Then let it cool completely. You can pop them into the fridge for 5 minutes to set quicker.

You can also do this with mini pretzels (regular ones) and they turn out like hearts. You don't have to do the squares, but they're prettier.

It has a very short bake time, and the kids can help with the set up, unwrapping, decorating, etc. Plus it's ready to eat with very little waiting if you pop it in the fridge.

I have a Better Homes and Gardens Jr. Cookbook that my aunt gave me when I was little. I've been making the snickerdoodle recipe from that book since I was in elementary school. I still mix everything with a wooden spoon like the book says to. I've tried using an electric mixer before, but it never turns out the same.
