@Boogs: don't just follow the link search in the bar- there are lots of different fabrics- I got 3 different kinds- chambray, jacquard texture, linen cotton blend.

My favorite are the Banana Republic Hampton shorts which are 3 1/2 inches. But I'm only 5'4" so fairly petite, and long shorts are not flattering.. I'm almost 40!

JCrew factory had these super flattering shorts last year with an elastic waist that really help the mommy love handles. I assume I got the 5" shorts and not the 3" kind, but I'm not sure. This thread is good for me. I am really self conscious about my legs. I have several scars from biopsys for skin cancer. Strangely I feel fine in swimwear (because it's for a purpose) but I have typically only worn long pants or maxis in the summer. Since I had my daughter I'm so much prouder of my body and am finally wearing shorts and short dresses regularly and feel good about it. I need to be a good example to my daughter. I also need some shorts

@Boogs: I got both pairs and LOVED them as well! At first I was a little meh on the drawstring shorts (I thought they were going to be super "mom" out of the package) but once I got them on I was like oh yeah!!
Now I just have to shave my legs so I can wear them.

@Smurfette: Those are the 3". If they'd had 4 I'd have gone with those, but I thought 5 might be too big with a looser fit. They are the most comfy shorts ever, I feel like I need to go hit an all-you-can-eat buffet in them ha!
