This week has been awful; its a crazy week for DH and I both at work, K came down with croup, and now I've got the fever-y, chills and hacking cough virus that goes along with it.
Since I can't take any cold meds, and I've run out of hot water standing in a steamy shower - what are your best cough and cold remedies?

Poor thing
I've had a bad cold twice so far and I'm only 13 weeks. All I can suggest is lots of tea (if you can stomach it) and all the paracetamol in the world I also used the humidifier with eucalyptus oil stuff in it to help with congestion.

If you have nasal congestion, a nettipot really can help. The squeeze bottle kind are easiest to use, IMO.

Sorry you're dealing with this. Showers and then using a neti pot have helped me the most. I've also been on Mucinex (without the decongestant) and I took Robitussin for three or four of the worst nights to quiet the cough. On the worst night I took a unisom. My doctor said she could write a prescription for a nighttime cough syrup with codeine if I felt I really needed it but I stopped short of that.
I've been coughing stuff up for a month and an half now so I might not be doing it right.

Actually, I take DayQuil. It's on my dr's OK list.

My OB told me I could take Robitussin DM when I had a really bad head cold and cough.
