I may be over thinking this... but would there be any issue with a three month old using a Sposie overnight? DS sleeps through the night but by 3am has soaked all the way through his sleepsack. I hate to wake him up just for a diaper change (he won't sleep through it, then will need rocked back to sleep).
DS has a paralyzed vocal cord, a g-tube and had aortic augmentation at five days so I am very sensitive to waking him up unnecessarily. I deeply believe healing is linked to rest.

I don't see why it would be an issue. We started using them around 5 months (with size 2 diapers), and LO has never seemed to find it uncomfortable. Unfortunately they haven't helped a ton. LO drinks a lot right before bed and sleeps on his side - and then inevitably wets through the side of the diaper - and we have yet to find an effective solution. But it seems worth a try...

I think that we stopped overnight diaper changes around 3mo (unless DD was crying or clearly wet or something) and I would old change unless I knew it was a poop. Around 4 months we switched to cloth diapers, which I absolutely did not change overnight as we only had a few overnight diapers!
So yes, I think that as long as LO isn't pooping several times a night, one diaper per night it fine!!
@periwinklebee: Have you considered trying a diaper cover on over the disposable? Check out Thirsties brand. It would be similar to a reusable swim diaper, and it may help keep the leaks contained! When we travel, we often use sposies for the trip, but I always put a diaper cover on over it to contain explosions. It works great!

LO absolutely hates having his diaper changed during the night - cue hysterical screaming and desperately trying to roll over and crawl away from his half asleep mommy

DS gets fed 1.5 ounces per hour for 10 hours at night so he is a nighttime peeing machine! Thanks for confirming I was over thinking!
@periwinklebee: What brand diapers do you use? I wonder if something like a little movers might be better because they are supposed to be a little tighter around the legs. I don't know if they come in 2's though.

I was told that not changing overnight was fine, and that going up a size would help with the leaks because it would hold more pee.

@Ms. RV: Thank you! We have been using baby dry - hadn't thought about little movers (LO is bigger now, so this might work). I hope the sposies work for you. We actually found that going up a size too soon made it worse, I think because they were less snug.

We only changed overnight for poop after the first couple weeks (and both girls rarely pooped overnight at that point).
Are you currently using cloth? We found that Grovia ones work really well for overnight if you're looking for a cloth option.

@erinbaderin: @mrsbubbletea: DS just went up a size. His bum is as flat as a pancake so I worry going up a size would just make him leak more.
We have about 20 sposies left over from DD so I am hoping that covers us until he can go up a size.
@peachykeen: I wish I could use cloth, but there is too much going on with DS to fit them in. Maybe if/when he gets off of daytime tube feeds.

We only use disposables but for overnight we sometimes go up a size and get brand name and not very often do we have leaks.

@jennlin821: Just wanted to update that the thirsties diaper covers have worked wonderfully for the past couple of weeks! They somehow force the pee to stay in the diaper rather than all leaking out the sides. Thank you - this has an immeasurable impact on my quality of life

I’d size up or use a spousie. We used them for many months since my LO2 drank a large bottle before bed.
