The Limited ankle pants are my favorite, I think they would be most practical with a nice shirt/sweater. NY & Co has great and affordable business friendly clothes.

For Winter, I highly recommend getting some cotton dresses and pair with fleece-lined leggings and boots, you say warm and still look cute (and will be able to interact with your young clients!)

I would probably avoid dresses and skirts since it sounds like you will be up/down a lot and maybe on floors interacting with littles? Sounds like pants might be easier? Or leggings with short dresses?

I’d get some ankle pants, some shells and cardigans. Then if someone’s home is super warm you have a layer to take off, and if not, you’ve got a bit of a sweater on already. Plus you can pretty easily mix/match shells and cardigans to maximize looks from a couple of outfits. I like Talbots for cardigans and shells. I have some ankle pants from Jag Jeans that I really like – super comfortable and have tummy support to suck in any squish.

There are tons of great flats available; I’ve had good luck with comfort/style and quality from Me Too brand of flats and also Sketchers makes some flats with super cushiony and supportive soles. I have some in straight black, so they match up nicely with most outfits.

Nordstrom is of course a great selection and has free returns. I also like Talbots and Ann Taylor / Loft because they have frequent sales, but I’ve never ordered online from them before so I can’t comment on shipping costs/policies.

I shop almost exclusively online these days, I tend to repeat at the same stores and I know the brands well enough to know what sizes I need.

I recommend a place like Kohls if you've got to get a lot of stuff in a short amount of time. They have different brands and it's very affordable. I always find something there, even when I am not really looking for anything. The bonus is that most of their stuff is machine washable, I really only dry clean a few things these days, I would suspect in healthcare you want to be able to launder easily.

I also like the suggestion of having socks if you have to remove your shoes, or some kind of light slip on indoor shoe if you need some stability.
