I used to live in the suburbs, and remember driving everywhere. I didn't have a pedometer then, but wouldn't be surprised if I didn't walk too much.

I lived in the city more recently, and we walked a lot! I have a pedometer and every day I would have no problem walking the recommended steps. It helped keep me in decent shape without having to go to the gym every day.

I moved to the country recently and wow - I am walking far fewer steps. Didn't expect that! But I guess everything is within walking distance, and I'm not doing long walks for school dropoff and pickup anymore. So the pedometer has a lot fewer steps to count... working on fixing that one!

What kind of area do you live in, and do you walk a lot?
