Don't give in!! Towards the end I wanted to know so badly. And I had tons of ultrasounds because of complications so I had to continually decline having them tell me which was so hard! But, it was soooooo worth it. That moment when my husband announced that we had a daughter was amazing!!

Heh my DH went from wanting to find out to being gung-ho Team Green, and I flipped the opposite way. By the time we could have found out he was so in love with the idea of being the one to announce the gender in the delivery room that it gave me the extra push to hold out. We were both dying to know by 36 weeks or so but we're both glad we held out. I have the moment DH said "it's a boy! Honeybee we have a son!" seared into my memory.

You could totally find out, but then keep it to yourself...tell people you're still team green.

I can't imagine being team green...I need to know everything, lol

@char54: I would, too. I'm bad at not spilling. I couldn't keep the name or gender a secret from people when they asked!!

@Foodnerd81: That makes sense...it's easier for guys to prepare when they know what to expect. Gives them a little reason to daydream about either playing catch or being obligated to go to tea parties, lol

@char54: The nurses said my face was priceless and I just kept yelling "It's a girl?!". I thought for sure we were having a boy so much so I bought a lot of boys clothes!

We found out with our first two and were team green with our third. I really really wanted to know but DH wanted to hold out and I am SO GLAD we waited It was awesome to see DH so excited to tell me the gender. I think he liked knowing before me LOL It gave me motivation to get to the end of labour too, I have never pushed so fast! There was so much more anticipation on delivery day.

If DD hadn't had her legs crossed with her cord in there too, we would have found out, but DD didn't want us to know. I was TG all the way, but DH and my Mom pressured me to find out, but DD wouldn't cooperate.

Then, when she was born my OB/GYN forgot and didn't tell us!! (she was a c-section so we couldn't see) I was really upset!

Second baby we found out (long story), and if we have a third one, TG again!

How did all of you ladies prepare for baby if you were team green? I'd love to do it but I'm such a planner!

I've ALWAYS wanted to go team green but I'll admit it, a few weeks ago during my 20 week scan I had a weak moment of wanting to know. I made it through and I'm happy I didn't find out! Can't wait until August!!!!

@Ash: hah yes clothes are my only little problem. I feel baby is a girl so I want to go buy pretty outfits, but I better hold off. My mom and MIL promise that as soon as baby comes they will be hitting the stores getting some gender specific clothing for us.

I haven't wavered so far, but it has been tough seeing almost everyone else on our board find out this month. I love the idea of a surprise and it's keeping me from buying too many clothes!

@delight: Not a chance! Don't worry.

@Ash: I'm an obsessive Type A planner, but there's nothing you HAVE to plan that's sex-specific Also, in terms of clothes, not knowing has meant that I've spent way less than I would have if I knew the sex, and that we got a lot of the gear we needed at our showers, as opposed to people going off-registry and buying way more clothes than we will ever need.

We're Team Green and we've never wavered in that decision. We figure it's one of life's greatest surprises and I can't wait to know whether it's a boy or a girl. Although I'm so certain it's a boy I'll be SHOCKED if they say it's a girl. Also, I hope that not knowing will give me that extra bit of motivation to push at the end!

I am team green - I originally wanted it and had to convince my DH but now he's completely into it. I've wavered a couple of times but I know deep down that I want to stay team green. DH has already decided that he will go to the waiting room when the baby is born, announce that we have a baby, and walk away as a joke

I never really waivered....I just kept the image in my head of my husband calling out the gender in the delivery room and having that moment to ourselves, that kept me strong! That being said, I ended up having an emergency c section under general anesthesia and never ended up having that moment we dreamed about. So although being team green was fun, since it didn't turn out how we imagined we'll probably just find out the gender early next time around.

@char54: I'm glad you decided to stay TG, I need a TG buddy on our month board! It is hard (I have 2 friends who are due right around me and will be finding out), but I think it will be worth it! Plus its a little fun to do something most of our friends haven't done by being surprised!
