We are heading out west to see and stay with my BIL and SIL for a week - We are flying and then have a 3 hours drive to get there.
Would love to leave a little gift behind when we leave.
What would you bring?
*I asked this on my local FB page as well and lots of people suggested something from a local landmark here - thoughts on that?

@Mamaof2: Hmmm...I would probably avoid a trinket that they feel they have to display. What about something like local olive oil (maybe not that exactly since you are flying,) locally made soaps, regional nuts etc?

Local soap I think they would like! And nuts wont melt!

If they drink wine, that’s often my thank you gift. I live near a popular wine producing region so I usually bring it with me if I know there is a vineyard they like or if I’m traveling somewhere that has their own regional wine or beer areas, I pick up wine or beer for them while out and about.

I would like stuff I can use and then be done with, so I wouldn't necessarily like a landmark trinket, but I would love a consumable like nuts, honey, soap, etc. That would all be wonderful.

@Mamaof2: Whenever we have family come out of state to visit us they bring food or other gifts. One year they brought us local maple syrup and a pancake kit. Other time it was specialty bread. Or homemade crafts.

@Mamaof2: no problem! I also like to cook and/or going to eat so I’ve made a meal when visiting or taken hosts out to dinner. I usually stick to food/beverage gifts

Maybe a gift card to a local restaurant - you could include a note about “thanks for taking such great care of us, now we’re going to take care of you for dinner!”

I would do something edible, and my go to is wine, but I see that alcohol is out. I personally don't like receiving "stuff", so anything to eat or consume like fun snacks, a fruit basket, restaurant gift card, or something like fancy hand soaps would be nice.
