We went through the taking the diaper off in the crib phase. It lasted a few weeks. But I don't think he potty trained for a few months after that. Maybe try leaving her bottomless at home and see how she does?

A is older than M but she started doing the same thing a few months ago. I was heavily pregnant when she started doing it and not in the mood for potty training but she was doing it all day/night so I didn't have a choice. I haven't been able to commit to it fully because of the new baby but I let her go diaperless at home now and she just takes herself off to the potty. Naps and bedtime, we have had to change to pull-ups and we told her it was special night time underwear. She still takes them off and kicks them across the room the second she wakes up but will tolerate them, unlike a diaper. Sounds like she is ready! Good luck!

@lawbee11: We haven't full done the method yet, but I really liked the Oh Crap, Potty Training book. We are going for it full force this weekend.

I would totally potty train. My DD went through this and was really interested around 23 months. I had DD2 when she was 23.5 months, so I just didn't have it in me to potty train then. I am now FIGHTING her over potty training at 33 months. (We tried the three day method right at 2.5 and it was a giant fail.) Anyway, it certainly wouldn't hurt to try!

@lawbee11: FYI they do make jammies that zip up the back so they cant remove their diaper while in the crib! K has only done this once...so we havent done it yet (just did the onsie thing like you) but if she keeps it up I plan to buy some.

@lawbee11: She knows she's peeing and doesn't like diapers, sounds like a good time to just try! We waited til past 2.5 and the hardest part at that stage was that she was freaked out by the potty. If it doesn't work out or you don't think you're making progress fast enough (like it's taking over your life!) you can always wait it out a bit longer..but she definitely sounds like she's starting to be ready!

We potty trained at 20 months and one of the major signs was that she was taking off wet diapers. It was super super easy and she took to it right away. Even daycare thought we were crazy until she came in Monday and had 1 accident.

@lawbee11: the 3 day method. Day one was terrible, day 2 was awesome, you just have to stick with it. We went through almost a whole can of resolve the first day. We also didnt' do pullups which I think made the biggest differce. We did diapers at nap and nighttime for less than a week. She was staying dry through both so we just kept her in underwear.

W didn't hate diapers when we started potty training her. But once we moved her into Pull-Ups, she didn't want to go back to diapers. She was potty trained at about 24/25 months. We didn't do the 3-day thing, because it just wasn't her personality. We just took it slow. But the peer pressure from seeing all her friends at daycare going on the potty made her want to do it more.

@lawbee11: Good luck! I think bottomless is essential those first couple of days, and we haven't added in undies yet, since he still seems to think they're essentially just diapers.
