My 20 month old just woke up having vomited all over her bed and herself, yet has no fever and isn't upset. Anyone have experience with something like this? Last time she vomited, she had a high fever and it was a UTI, but this is much different. Clearly, we'll be calling her pediatrician in the morning if she continues, but can anyone ease my mind in the meantime? It seems odd she'd have no other symptoms.

I usually look to recent events to see if that could be related. What did she have for dinner? Were there any changes in behavior or routine yesterday?
Oh and one more thing: Charlie used to throw up quite a bit, but it turned out to be a dairy sensitivity. Once we cut out dairy, he stopped completely. We've since restarted dairy, and no more regular throwing up!

@mrbee: she did get her nap time messed up today and was overtired by bedtime, so we put her down early. Maybe it was too much change for one day?

@erinpye: I haven't experienced nap changes causing throwing up... was food and drink all the same as usual?

@mrbee: yes all normal stuff, but she did seem to throw up one food in particular, so perhaps it didn't sit well. It was chili, which she loves and eats often, but maybe it was a bad batch. I didn't eat it, but my husband did and he's ok.

@erinpye: since she seems normal, I'd be inclined to attribute it to the food and to watch her carefully for other signs! And to call doc at first sign of something more serious!!

@erinpye: This happened to my DS this past week! I thought it was food poisoning but I ended up getting it 2 days later. Worst bug I've ever had.
DS was better the same day (didn't eat as much though)

We had a stomach thing going around here too just before thanksgiving that my toddler caught. She just woke up from her nap vomiting, threw up like four times to empty her stomach, went to bed for the night and then woke up fine the next day.

We also had a bug during Thanksgiving. My LO got it first - he threw up twice, but had no other symptoms at first. He was playing like normal. However we started giving him dairy again the next day and he threw up again - so stick to a bland diet for a couple days! My husband, me, my MIL, sister, and mom all got the bug within 2-3 days after that. We all got it much worse than my LO!

Ugh all of you telling me it's going to spread through my family aren't easing my mind- I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have been nauseated/ vomited my whole pregnancy already. DD didn't throw up again in the night, but my DH made the mistake of giving her some milk when she woke up and she threw it up. Since, she's had a bath, a few bites of dry toast, and some sips of water mixed with pedialyte. Still no fever, and for the most part acting like her normal self. DH was sick last weekend and while he didn't throw up, he felt extreme nausea, so I'm kind of wondering if she has the same thing. Who knows, I've been so nauseated already, maybe I have it too. It never fails to strike around the holidays

We just had a tummy thing here..... DS puked for the first time ever Monday with no other symptoms..... FI, me, and 3 of our friends were puking by Wed night

This happened to us last weekend.
LO vomited in his sleep Thursday night (and slept in bigtime) and we assumed it was from coughing so I fed him yogurt for breakfast which he projectile vomited. He stayed home from daycare and was pretty lethargic all day but didn't vomit or show any other symptoms. He slept lots and ate very little Friday and Saturday and by Sunday he was 100% back to normal. I ended up getting sick Saturday night / Sunday, but it lasted 24 hours then I was fine. My husband had some sort of stomach bug this past Friday but he was also better within 24 hours.

@erinpye: I think P had a small version of the stomach bug Dh and I and many people we know got. He was sick two Monday's ago. She threw up in her sleep on Monday/Tuesday night. I didn't know until she woke up. But she was totally fine otherwise, with a slight fever (99) which I chalked up to teething. Then I got the bug the following Monday ( a week after DH). I hope you do not get a stomach bug, but that if you do, this is as bad as S gets it! My friends kid had it really badly

Thanks everyone! I suspect I did have it already, but since I'm already so nauseated, just chalked feeling worse this last week up to "my luck." Sloane seems to be doing much better- ate mild foods, didn't want dinner, but kept everything she did eat down, and got lots of rest and 2 long naps in. It's the pits having a sick little one

My toddler is going through this, too. She got sick at a few hours ago and it was a huge mess. I felt so sorry for her! She's in bed now and I'm hoping and praying she is able to get some rest. I'm also afraid I'm going to get the bug, too. I've been nauseous a little today, so it's not looking good.

Ha! Woke LO up this morning and he had puked all over his crib.
So sad! He seemed to be okay. Had a small diarrhea before leaving the house and I took him to daycare...I know, I know. He had no fever, didn't seem unhappy so I'm chalking it up to eating something that didn't sit with him. I am watching the monitor like a hawk tonight though--not a good way to start the morning!
