I had liked the idea of the early potty training thing (more by slowly introducing it to her by casually sitting her on it, etc), but lately she has been sobbing when we change her diaper, doesn't want another one on, pulling it off if she has access, sticking her hand in her diaper, etc. She doesn't have a rash, her poops are 1-2 times a day.
We have been talking more and more about poop and pee pee and we know when she's going poop (and so does she because she likes to go off by herself to do so). i've been doing more research into PT, including slow methods and the 3-day method (recommended at 22 months) and wondering if i'm totally crazy for possibly trying the 3 day method in earnest sooner rather than later? if it's gonna take a while, i'm totally okay with that, but i guess because it seems like she's pretty aware right now (and it's kinda becoming a fight where as previous to a few weeks ago, diaper changes were a non-issue), it might be an ideal time to go for broke?
tell me if i'm crazy or not. potty training (learning, whatever!) is now my latest obsession! ha.
ETA: she's 18 months!
We just PT'd at 25 months and it wasn't too hard (although we have yet to master pooping (he saves it for naptime and nighttime when he's still in a diaper). What worked for us was just taking him every 30 minutes to potty and rewarded him every time his underwear were still dry, then slowly moved it to 45 minutes, then an hour. He still doesn't tell us when he has to go (but usually tells the truth when we ask him), but he hasn't had an accident in awhile because we just regularly put him on the toilet and he's figured out to hold it until then (or tell us, but that's rare).
