I took this test today after taking Clomid and receiving 10,000iu of a trigger shot on 6/1. So today it’s been 12 days since the shot. Could this be too soon and it be residual from the shot?? Or could I have hope? Planning on retesting Friday to see if line gets darker...but would love to know your experiences. Thanks!

That’s a tough one, it could really go either way since the shot potentially stays in your system longer than that. That's why you either test out the trigger or wait a bit longer. Hope it's the real deal!

Have you done any tests prior to this to test out the trigger? If not I would definitely wait at least 3 days before testing again. I see it but because it's so faint and a little early, it really could go either way. Wishing the best for you!

I have had trigger show up at that point, but I really hope you see a darker test Friday!!

Thanks guys! I’m really trying to stay positive and not get too optimistic but I’ll keep you posted. Do you think Friday (15 days past shot) would be ok? I didn’t do a test through this until now...I didn’t think of that! But if there’s a next time, I definitely will. Because at the end of the day, aren’t we all just a little POAS addicted

@Stardust17: There could be hope but without prior testing, it is very hard to tell. Take it from me, someone who always said "I'm not going to test out the trigger shot" and then proceeded to test out the trigger shot 3 cycles in a row...
I would definitely wait until Friday to test again otherwise you will drive yourself crazy wondering if the line is darker or not. I have read it can stay in your system up to 14dpt and I always had it until at least 12dpt, once 13dpt. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

@Stardust17: actually I think even if you test it out, you can still end up in the same position! I totally did it so no judgment if you do 
however, because they are not made to be accurate for super low numbers, it’s possible to get one blank (so you think it’s gone) and the next day light line and both actually be very low trigger. You can’t tell it’s real until you get a clearly darkening line! to you!

Both successful ivf cycles we did with trigger shots have shown a positive that was NOT the trigger but a real BFP at 12 days post. Fingers crossed for you!

I had a real 
at 14 days after the trigger. My trigger shot was Ovidrel. Apparently they vary in dosing depending on brand, and that can effect how long i takes to leave your system.

@Stardust17: same thing happened to me with both of my babies. I tested too early and didn’t know if it was the trigger or real. I also had 10,000IU. I calculated the half life and pretty much drove myself insane with numbers. My conclusion was that it’s more than likely that it’s out of your system by about 6-10 days after the trigger. Maybe even sooner! So, I think, like mine... you’re getting a BFP!

I caved and took another this morning...my thought process was if it’s lighter than yesterday’s, it’s probably residual but if it’s darker, I could have hope. I think it’s a little lighter...
(Top one is yesterday’s taken at 12noon and bottom is today’s taken @ 6am with FMU)

@Stardust17: I'm sorry, what a bummer. Not all hope is lost, you still have a shot, but I agree that the top is darker.

Took a dollar store test at 930 and it was definitely negative. Am I completely out??

@Stardust17: It really depends on the sensitivity of the test and when you might've implanted. For example, if you implated really late and the test has a very low sensitivity, a line might not show up. A FRER has a high sensitivity for hcg (like 6.3 or something) whereas walmart tests, wondfos and clearblue digitals all have around 25 or higher.
Because I am crazy, I would take a frer and see if there was a line or not. If no, then I would probably guess I was out but if yes, I would still have hope.
Bottom line...ttc sucks!!
