My first ultrasound is on Monday when I will be 8w5d. As it gets closer, I am getting more and more nervous. I am trying to be excited but I am so apprehensive because it's how I learned about my blighted ovum in August. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had ( bad news, bad tech, very painful.)
A part of me wants to cancel my appointment and stick my head in the sand...
Anyway, we're you super nervous, too? Just want to know if I am not alone.

I was super nervous since I knew so many people that had miscarriages. I cried when we saw and heard the heartbeat.

@simplyfelicity: I was nervous, but would have been even more so had I NOT gotten one, myself. I'm keeping my fingers crossed so hard for you that baby is healthy and growing perfectly. For as sick as you've been, I think you'll get fabulous news, but totally get the apprehension, too. It's amazing how a blinking spot on the screen can bring tears to your eyes!

I know my previous pregnancies don't dictate this one but it's hard not to associate, ya know? And, yes, I have been feeling pretty darn awful. The unisom does take the edge off though and today is the first day I have thrown up in three weeks!

@simplyfelicity: You are NOT alone! I'm very anxious for my first ultrasound (December 22nd). I'm really excited to be pregnant but there's a big part of me that wants to suppress how happy I am until that first appt.

I was terrified before my first ultrasound in this pregnancy. (My first one ended in miscarriage after the first scan showed baby measuring eight days behind.) I was literally shaking. I tried to pass the time by looking up dirty jokes on my phone and reading them to my husband. But when the doctor finally arrived and did the scan, everything was absolutely perfect! Wishing the same great news for you on Monday.

Yep, I was super, super anxious. I had red spotting and cramps the day before too, which made me even more nervous.

It's okay to be nervous, you're a momma who worries about her baby's health, just like moms are supposed to. When you see that heartbeat you will be so incredibly happy that you'll be glad you kept the appt, but then probably nervous again the next day. And all through your baby's life even when he or she is a full grown adult
You're pregnant today. This baby deserves hope and, just like any baby, parents who worry about him or her. The appointment will be great!

Yeah. Similarly to you I had a missed miscarriage almost 2 years ago and I found out at my first ultrasound at 12 weeks. It was awful.
this time around I got u/s really early at 6 and 8 weeks. I was a mess. Luckily the ultrasound tech was so sweet and helped me to be positive. I'm 38 weeks today!!! Hoping everything goes smoothly for you! -
I was so nervous! And after all you've been through I feel like you deserve a big hug because it must be so hard. I have faith in your pregnancy though and will be praying for a healthy bean in there! I have a very good feeling.

Yes! Was very concerned there wouldn't be a baby in there. It's hard to control the fear sometimes.

Yes, I was always super nervous before the early ultrasounds and I always cried. Once I could feel the baby move, I became less nervous before ultrasounds. Lots of love to you!!

I was extremely nervous. The circumstances leading to my ultrasound were not the best, but we saw a healthy baby and I laughed. Now my girl is 13 months old. I'm praying for you and wishing you a joyful experience seeing your perfect baby.

Yes, I was very nervous because my second pregnancy was so different and I didn't feel symptoms until 13 weeks.

First pregnancy I was only nervous for the first ultrasound.
Second one I was nervous for every single ultrasound. The first one especially cuz I was up in ER with cramping and bleeding. I was soooo scared. -
I wasn't nervous about the ultrasound in my first pregnancy. I was really nervous about it with LO2 because it seems that I had a vanishing twin with my first pregnancy, so I was nervous about the possibility of twins the second time.

I feel you! At 22w6d, I still get nervous before each appointment, especially ultrasounds! I don't know why nor do I have a good reason but I always mentally prep for hearing bad news. It's exhaustinng for sure. Good luck- sending good vibes your way!

Shoot yeah! My first ultrasound was a 6w3d, and I had zero symptoms so I was nervous. Then, we saw this tiny blob flickering, and she said that's the heartbeat!! So, I had to wait six weeks from then until yesterday to see babe again at my 12 week appt. that's a long wait! I've had horrible morning sickness but was still nervous! Babe was kicking, jumping, and it was the most beautiful feeling in the world. Can't wait to hear about your apt!

Before every sono I get so nervous that I get light headed and get a headache! Before my first ultrasound at 11 weeks I was so nervous I thought I was going to puke. Fingers crossed for you!

Definitely. For my first, even though I was so sick, I was terrified there wouldn't be a baby in there. This time I am pretty scared too, also about how I'm going to manage to keep down the water they need me to drink. I think you are going to be fine, you are being very very sick every day; there is a baby in there

I was super nervous! I think I went in as early as 6 weeks and it was too early to see a hb so I was so anxious whether my baby actually existed in there. Sending you lots of good thoughts!

Oh, girl. With this pregnancy, I was CRAZY nervous before our first ultrasound (around 9 weeks) because I'd found out at 11 weeks about our MMC the time before. Honestly, I always got nervous before appointments until well past 20 weeks, when I was feeling her all the time. I still worry a lot, but it's much better since I can see and feel her swimming around in there all day.

With dd - I was nervous because I didn't have any symptoms but not like I am now.
I start thinking about my ultrasound on Tuesday and start shaking. Every ultrasound since DD has brought the worst news. -

I actually had my first ultrasound a week ago and I heard the heart beat but my doctor wanted to do a follow up ultrasound because she saw some irregularity. Needless to say I am soooo nervous for tomorrow! Good luck and I hope we both can share some happy news!!

I was VERY nervous before my both of my ultrasounds this time, one at 6w3d, the other at 9w3d, and just terrified that I would get bad news. But we can worry all we want, or not worry at all, and it won't change the outcome (although we are not necessarily rational when we've had bad experiences in the past
). Thinking of you as you go in tomorrow! -

I feel for you. You're already an amazing mama ... your heart is so invested!
We had a previous loss, so our first u/s with our daughter was bittersweet (the time leading up to it). But then we saw our sweet baby, and my worries went away. Honestly, there's always a new worry, but the joyful/happy moments are so much sweeter.I hope your appointment is amazing tomorrow!
