My 3 year old is really into those little hatchimals right now so I will get some of those for finding. I also am planning on getting some of those little dinosaur or jungle figurines they sell at micheals and putting them in the eggs. We are trying not to do too much candy too. For the baskets I will put in a new swimsuit, flip flops, and summer hat. And then probably bubbles, seeds for the and garden, and a book. When my son was a newborn I made him a little basket with a little stuffy, some pacifiers, and then some candy for me to eat. I just wanted my older child to see her sibling get a gift too!

I'm sticking with pretty practical things for my ten month old. She doesn't "need" much - I really just want my three year old to see that her little sister gets a basket as well. At Christmas, I was worried that my older one would realize that the baby's stocking was full of less fun stuff (pouches, puffs, socks, etc.) but it went right over her head. She was just excited to open her own stuff, and see that her baby sister had something too.

Putting gifts and toys into Easter baskets was a totally new idea to me but since DS was too little for candy the last 2 years I did a book, small toy and a treat (Puffs, fruit snacks etc.)

DS is 2.5 this year and I have bought a new Little Blue Truck book and will get a few trains from Thomas and Friends and probably some jelly beans and a chocolate bunny. As he gets older we will transition to more candy and 1 small toy.

@Miss Flamingo: My 4 year old is getting an umbrella that I will open and fill. So far I have chalk, chalk stencils, bubbles, some cheddar bunny crackers, stickers and will probably throw in a snack pack of cookies and new sunhat. He doesn't like candy. We will also do a mix of dyed eggs and plastic eggs with quarters that he can keep the money for his piggy bank.

For the 4 month old I plan to do a small basket with a hat, Easter bib, teething toy and some new pacifiers. Stuff he actually needs but can stick in a basket to get cute pictures of both boys on Easter.

We just went through a drastic month long sugar detox (actually it was only drastic for me, the kids were aloud to cheat at least 1-2 per week!) so I am really hoping to limit candy to like 1 piece. So I am thinking:

-A small set of play mobile
-Matching dress up clothes for my daughter and her doll
-Dress up outfit for my son
-A couple hatchamals
-New swimsuit each
-A book

Then I’m thinking we’ll do little plastic knickknacks and stickers for the egg hunts.

2.5 YO and 4 MO...both are getting a bunny bubble wand, I got a cute little puff ball slingshot at the dollar spot at target for the 2 yo, and I have a stash of plastic eggs but I’m not planning to fill them with anything. I hate small plastic junk and we def don’t need any candy. I will fill the baby’s basket with stuff we already have, like books or a rattle. The 2 yo I may add some art supplies or something.

I like to keep them low key, when I was growing up we never got gifts in our baskets, just eggs and candy, so the idea of full on presents is something I find a little strange.

I found the idea to fill an umbrella instead of a basket on Pinterest, and it is so cute!

I might do a few Mega Construx sets this year.

I almost never put in candy or any type of food. My mom buys a chocolate bunny and that's the extent of it for my son.

Books and playdoh

I got a crayola watercolor set and sidewalk chalk and a few books. I’m thinking about getting a squigz starter set and putting some of the smaller pieces into Easter eggs for him to find. DS is 2.25

I'm with @Bluemasonjar and @Jennibenni, I never heard of the toys in a basket until recently. I'm just going to stick to little plastic eggs hidden around the house and backyard. Since DS is allergic to milk, it will likely be smarties and fruit snacks. Maybe some stickers.

@2PeasinaPod: coins in eggs is genius! My kids would go nuts for that and we have about a zillion plastic eggs and I try to find some small non candy things. I am totally stealing this!

This is the second year in a row we will travel right after Easter. so I will find new random little stuff for the plane, plus swimsuits, plus a book and probably that is it. Candy and fruit snacks for the eggs and the plane and we are good to go.

This is all theoretical of course since I won’t start shopping for a few weeks.

My DD will be 14 months at Easter so putting together a basket is mostly for my benefit - because it's fun! It'll probably be little packets of goldfish crackers/animal crackers, boxes of raisins, a board book, a small toy, and I'm also putting a pair of Toms in. Mainly because I ordered them and justified it by telling DH they were for her Easter basket. I'd like to do some plastic eggs for her to open but I'm not sure what I'd put inside...

I usually do a few things I plan on buying anyways (a new swim suit, sandals, maybe a pair of sunglasses), art supplies (usually for outdoors like new chalk or outdoor paint), maybe some outdoor toys like a shovel or bubbles, and a small treat.

@2PeasinaPod: also loving the coins in eggs! My 6 year old will love counting the money and the 3.5 year old will love to fill his piggy bank! This is genius. So much better than the small toy junk that I usually reuse every year.
