My sister is an elem. teacher who had a speedy, intense labor with my nephew (woke up in the middle of the night in labor, arrived at the hospital a few hours later in transition).

One of her coworkers told her to think of the worst student mother she'd ever dealt with, and said: "Remember. If SHE can do it, YOU can do it!" Apparently that thought really helped her to push! :O

Did any little things like that help you through your labor? Or was it more the big things that made a difference, like the presence of your SO?
