I had some from zulily last year for the kids, but I dropped the ball this year!
Need to get some on zappos asap by the middle of the week--for a 4 year old.

Bogs. She can put them on by herself and they are super warm. She'd only ever used a really flexible sole before so at first she kind of clomped around. But we have cold, snowy, slushy, long winters and they have been great

My kids have Lands End boots. They can put them on themselves, and they were affordable too. They're basically same design as the LE boots I wore as a kid.

@Silva: like these? http://www.zappos.com/bogs-kids-classic-snow-cuff-toddler-little-kid-big-kid-black
They're on sale!

@matador84: we have these: http://m.zappos.com/bogs-kids-classic-high-handles-toddler-little-kid-big-kid-black
But the ones you posted look great too!

@matador84: @Silva: We love Bogs too, the lower ones though: http://www.bogsfootwear.com/shop/toddler-winter-boots
Maybe next year we'll go for the higher one, seems more practical in the snow!

@Beehive: we used those her first two winters!! Last year we used stride rites "snoot" (sneaker/boot) and they were great but she needed a real big kid boot this year! These bigger kid bogs would definitely have been too heavy for her until she was about 3

I have a pair of Bogs for school and a pair of Kamik boots similar to these for playing in the snow.

Last year Keen Toddler Berns were great. This year we like Teva Lenawee.

We've had the same style of Kamik boots @katsupgirl: posted, as well as these Sorel ones:
Both worked well for playing in the snow; my girls wore fashion boots to school instead of snow boots.

We are using some Bog-style ones from Target for my almost 2 year old. They were good in the snow today. They are half off right now!
We have the shorter version, but they had a longer version as well.

Kamik - the kind that Velcro and open way up. We have bogs for to and fro but the kamik are much better for winter snow play

We like the LL Bean Northwoods boots. They come with an extra insert in case they get wet, but that's never happened to us. Not sure if that's helpful for ordering from Zappos, though.

Sorel/kamiks...the same ones that @winniebee: said. We are on our third pair of those for DD1, and they are easy to get on, warm, and easy to Velcro on herself to make them tight and no snow gets in. I think the sorel version is the snow commander?
Lots of people here (MN) do bogs. We have the rain boots and they are fine but I don't really see what all the fanfare is about. DD1 definitely doesn't like the style/height/fit as much, and I like that I can really tighten the other ones down!

We got Kamik recently and they are really easy and warm. He wore them in 10 degrees in Idaho and was happy.

Merrell Snowbank. I like the flexible sole the best, my son can wear them the entire day.

we have tundra quebec wide. there aren't many wide snow boots out there, and i can actually get my 4 year old's hobbit feet into these without much problem.
