DD1's birthday is at a horse stable. The first 45 minutes are for pony rides (in a covered arena, so weather is not an issue); for the remainder of the party we have a party room where we'll have snacks and cake towards the end.

There will obviously be some (probably outdoor) downtime while the girls wait their turn for the ponies (we have 2 horses for 10-15 girls), so I was thinking of having some things like bubbles, punch-balloons, jump ropes, etc. out for the girls to play with while they're not riding. Beyond that, I'm trying to decide if I want another "planned activity" or not. I'm considering:

- a pinata
- some kind of organized game (race? ring toss?)
- a craft project (indoors)

What would your little one rather do? The girls are mostly six, with 2-3 four year olds also attending (but not the focus of this event). I'm leaning towards pinata & outdoor play, with maybe some crayons and coloring sheets inside for those who want them, since I think after ponies the girls may be too excited to sit down and do a directed craft (like make a necklace).

Other than the people managing the ponies, there is no party host, so I'm trying not to overcommit myself too much to needing to lead/organize lots of activities.

I appreciate any thoughts/input! Ideas for games/activities I haven't thought of are also totally welcome. Thanks
