My almost 19 month old daughter has basically flipped a switch the past few days, she's AWFUL to deal with. Almost everything is a fight and today she threw an epic 1+hour long tantrum after she woke up over nothing. She has some clear runny nose, but I can't tell if she has any teeth coming though. What did canines look like for you? I hear they are the worst over anything. I'm hoping it's teeth and not her changing into this from the sweet girl she was before.

DD's canines had been the easiest of all her teeth coming in. They popped in between 15-16 mo. No sleep disruption, just a little more nursing than usual.

My lil guy was a very early teeth we and got his canines and first 4 molars at 11 mo... Weirdly didn't seem to bother him too much...

@abbydabbydoodlebug: DS is 20 months and is getting canines in right now---it has been horrible!!!! So I have sympathy for you! Now that 2 of the 4 have broken through he has been a lot better. He always puts his hands on his mouth and says "ow." Hope they come in quickly for you!

Mine got some of his at 17/18 months. It was by far the worst teething experience we've had this far. I read that, a long time ago, they used to cut open the gums where the canines were at to assist the teething process since canines were considered the worst.

My son is getting one now at almost 18 months. He is much sassier than normal and has cried a couple mornings. I've heard from everyone they are the worst.

My DS has been an easy teether he never really acts out because of teething he would just drool and chew on thing more but he got his canines about 4 months ago when he was 14 months. He actually has all his teeth now and he's only 18 months and he got his first tooth at 7 months so they grew in fast and pretty much back to back

Canines always came in super early for my girls. Definitely before one. DD2 just got all four by 11 months.

My 18 month old just had the bottom ones popthrough the past day or two. She has been working on them (and molars) for foreverrrrrr! So over teething!

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I am right there with you! Hugs! DS is 15 months and is getting them now and it is horrible! He is clearly in a lot of pain, drooling like a maniac, his sleep is a mess, and he is having massive meltdowns. Probably not all due to teething but it is definitely not helping the situation.

Thanks for all the replies, I guess it really varies from kid to kid! She got her last molar months ago and they weren't too bad, easily taken care of by motrin. I'm not even sure it is her canines, they don't look bulged or anything to me. I'm just hoping that's what explains her awful mood.

Swollen since 15 months, didn't cut until 20-21 months!!

LO is 22 months and still no sign of canines. I would pay a visit to the doctor just to rule out an ear infection or something like that. For us, we've never had hardcore teething symptoms so when my LO is acting like that we go to the doctor.

I want to say ~16-17 months? My niece is 18 months and just got hers not too long ago.

My DS has had 2 pop through between 19 and 20 months - still waiting on the other 2. He's definitely had a really hard time with them, but he's also been generally a lot harder to deal with over the last few months. I think he's settling down a bit now though

My son just turned 2 and the 4th canine just popped through his gums. He was drooling like crazy and his nose was running for what seemed like the entire summer!
