E has always been an independent and willful little soul but at almost 9 months she has begun to get more and more toddler-esque....

She is desperate to crawl and/or walk but isn't physically able to just yet. She tries and tries and gets so frustrated when she can't, throwing a little mini tantrum! She slams her hands down by her sides and makes this little growl-scream. I feel so sorry for her!

She is also really difficult to entertain because she wants to grab everything - but as soon as she has got hold of it, she loses interest. Yesterday, we went out for lunch and she spent the entire time kicking off because she wanted DH's beer, my phone, the napkin.... she clambered all over us, getting more and more frustrated!!

She has also become a really picky eater. She wont eat anything she can't give to herself and fights to hold her own bottle or sippy cup - but then she can't lift it high enough to drink out of and that makes her very sad. She throws all of her finger foods off the high chair then cries for them! When you put a new piece of food onto the tray, she uses her arm to (angrily) sweep it off and God help you if you catch it and put it back - cue the growl-scream! All the foods she used to love she no longer eats.

DH and I keep joking that her toddler self is beginning to emerge - and she's a horror!!!

Was this age difficult for your LO? When did you see the willful little toddler begin to emerge?
