I'm curious to know at what age do kids start to get interested in exchanging school photos. When did your LO start?

I've never heard of this. Not something I ever did as a child.

Growing up we only really did this with senior photos. Although my best friends and I started it in elementary school - but probably only 5 or six people until senior year.

We used to always exchange pictures. I think it started during 3rd grade ... by 6th grade, everyone did it. I'm kind of relieved to hear it's not so popular. Less school pics to buy

@SugarplumsMom: I did it growing up but don't know when. I get the cheap school package and its $20 and comes with :
2 8x10
2 5x7
4 3x5
24 of those little pass around photos - which leads me to believe they still exchange. DS is in 2nd grade and hasn't exchanged -
I remember doing this in junior high. Looking back this was so cheesy. I don't plan on buying extra wallet size photos just for him to pass them out to his friends.

@SugarplumsMom: I teach at elementary school and the kids don't do it although I might get one from a student once a year.
FYI: to save money on school pics, I bought the class photo with the digital download with copyright/printing release. Then I printed tons of wallets at a cheap price. I gave to my family and friends. I will always go for the digital download option if available. -
Yeah, not doing this. I think my parents used to order the class photo if that option was available standalone. I won't be buying class photos beyond the group photo.

Middle and high school. But I kind of think this won't be a "thing" when our kids are older, since there are so many digital pictures around.

I think we did it in elementary school. Maybe grades 4-6 and my best friend and I did for a bit in high school because we lived hours away from each other at that point. Otherwise I didn't do it with anyone else and probably would have thought it was weird if someone had requested it.

Senior pictures of close friends only. Never heard of doing it earlier.
