DS1 is 4 and totally night trained for a year and a half but he wakes us up and makes us go in there with him. There is a light on in there so it isn't dark. He has to walk across the house to get us instead of going right next door to the bathroom

Definitely 4. The bathroom is right next to his bedroom and luckily, my son has never woken me up to go to the toilet. Although, I'm a very light sleeper and it always wakes me up when he turns on the light switch.

@lamariniere: ours is right next to his room too!! It's infuriating that he comes and gets us. We tell him to go on his own and he starts freaking out

She isn't night trained but times she will wake up and she goes by herself to the bathroom.

M probably started that a little before 4. She's not generally an independent kid so it was pretty surprising for us!

The twins are just over 4 and every now and then they'll come wake us up, but mostly they just go...then they come wake me up to tuck them back in.

E didn't start this until he was 4.5, but then he usually wakes me up to fix his covers when he tries to get back into bed.

DD was 3.5 when she night trained and got up on her own. DS will be 3 next month but night trained in Feb and also got moved to the basement room then too, he comes up the stairs to go pee once a night usually. Night lights on way up stairs and hall.

DS is 4.5 and he still comes to wake us up eve though the bathroom is right next to his room. It doesn't bother me too much. I understand that it's dark and he's familiar with the route to us and not necessarily to the bathroom. I think he's scared of being awake and alone, so I get up and take him, then tuck him back in.

T will be 5 next month -- he woke us at night most nights for a loooong time to pee. And he had to walk right past the bathroom to get to our room. The last few months he's been going on his own (or mostly not going at all).

Ditto the others that said around 4/4.5.
DS1 would do the same thing - he would walk past the bathroom to our room to tell us that he had to use the potty.

Ds1 has literally only woken up once to go to the bathroom at night in his life. He doesn't pee a whole lot though, it's just him.

@ValentineMommy: Same here. Since he's been potty trained, I think the only time he's ever gone to the bathroom in the middle of the night was to puke when he got a stomach bug.
