Our county has the Kindergarten kids come in for one day during the first full week of school for an assessment day. Then, they sort the kids so they are evenly dispersed, according to skill level. We find out who our child's teacher is the Friday before they start school that next week.

The first year, we found out a few days before school started. There was an orientation session and all the classes with names were posted. Next year there won't be an orientation since my son won't be a new student, so we'll find out the day school starts.

We didn't have an assessment as the school was brand new and they didn't have the ability to host an orientation (the teachers weren't even all hired this time last year). They sent a letter in the mail, it was really well done, I was impressed.
Each teacher had their own letter, with a little barcode that you could scan and listen to a message from the teacher.
Now, I have no idea how we find out the teachers, but I am trying not to care as I was disappointed at first with my son's teacher for silly reasons but now I love her!

We will have back to school night a few days before school starts and the classes will be posted.
I always remember finding out teachers at the end of the year growing up but it was a smaller school. We only had one kinder teacher and it was am/pm and two sections of other grades.

We find out teacher and class roster for 1st grade on 5/23!!!! We found out sometime during the summer for kinder.

We found out this week as LO placed into the one and only gifted kindergarten class at the magnet school in our district. We will meet the teacher next week at gifted parent orientation and decide whether we want to take that spot or send her to a regular kindergarten class in our neighborhood school.

Sometime in august they have a kindergarten orientation day. We'll get class and teacher info and bus schedule
