My 5yo had an awful stomach bug two summers ago where she threw up almost everything she was able to eat for almost 10 days (and had the runs too). she was pretty lethargic but there was nothing to do but wait it out. I had always thought those bugs were quick but the nurse told me it's not uncommon to last up to 2 weeks (!).

As long as water is staying down I think they'll eat when they're ready. but never hurts to call your nurse if you want a second opinion!

DS quit eating around noon on Saturday, threw up 3 times Saturday night from 7 pm to 1 am, ate some fruit on Sunday noon and a little more Sunday night, no breakfast Monday, more fruit for lunch, and finally ate a full supper Monday night.
I definitely worried about it, but the dr. said its more important they get liquids and aren't dehydrated. I started giving Pedialyte in a medicine dropper (he wouldn't drink it as 'juice' but is the weird kid that likes medicine). It seemed to help.

My doctor told me not eating or hardly eating for up to 5 days is okay/normal if they are drinking and that eating can be wonky for up to 10 days.

I typically only worry about dehydration and try to keep the ped updated. If she's peeing and taking in fluids I usually don't worry.

I had a sister who would end up in the hospital a lot because she'd get too dehydrated. We'd give her anything she wanted really, soda, popcicles, ice cream, Gatoraid, anything to make sure she's hydrated.

My father used to make this Hawaiian frozen treat called goodie goodie that's basically cherry soda and sweetened condensed milk. She'd always eat some of that.
