My 3.5 year old loves to post her artwork on our walls. It started with a picture she made at a fall festival a few months ago - we tacked it onto a wall in the living room with painter's tape - and ever since then she wants to put up her art anywhere she can find an empty wall space. As a result, we now have that initial wall full of paper and she's now spreading out into her bedroom as well. I've generally rolled with it, but it's going to start getting out of control pretty soon. Anyone find any creative solutions for kids who like to show their stuff off like this?

You could install a wire that you can clip art to so it can constantly be rotated in her bedroom. I think IKEA has them?

we're in this same boat with my 4 year old! ALL OVER THE HOUSE!

I also go with it, we have it on doors, in hallways, even in the bathroom.

I put this up on our kitchen wall and can rotate the art out easily.

We have a bulletin board in our kitchen that we hang current artwork on.
When new stuff starts to take over we save some artwork in a big plastic bin, and some goes in the trash

My kids are too young for this but my friends have each of their girls a "gallery" - they each have a cork board and they can hang whatever they want on it in as many layers as they want but they have to keep the art limited to that space. Maybe by presenting it as her special space and she can put whatever she wants on it she'll be excited to have control?

We started with the clothesline and now I let her do her own frames with Washi tape. It is easier to rip. It's everywhere and I'm ok with it. We have budding artists!

@erinbaderin: This is what I'm hoping to do. I tried to push her toward her room as her space and she said "but then the living room won't be as pretty" I'm raising a modest one, apparently LOL

Cam you use some wash tape to put up some"frames" on one wall, and tell her that the other walls are going to be plain because this is her special wall and because your eyes like to rest on peaceful, plain walls sometimes, and admire her beautiful artwork sometimes, and they need to be able to do both?

@Mrs. Carrot: i've seen people do the wire with a decal quote saying every child is an artist on one wall in their room like the picture below. Pinterest has lots of ideas. So then you can tell her she can only have as much art as fits on the wires

Hahaha, I thought I had this under control, but one night DS decided it's a good idea to make 30 sheets of identical blue squiggles, call them important artwork, and make me put them all up. I think I'll just start quietly removing whatever falls off...

Same setup as @fancyfunction: I used nails and some ribbon. LO loves seeing her art up on the wall.

I have a dr am of doing something like this in the playroom- getting a bunch of cheap big frames secondhand and spray painting them and putting wire and clothes pins to switch out artwork. But we are no where close to that.

Luckily we don't post art but I get dozens of "pieces" a week. We are currently going through a tape and roll phase. He does functional art... He's like an impressionist, makes many versions of the same piece.
He loves art though and that's super awesome.

@Foodnerd81: I did that in my kitchen. Instead of wire, I used foamboard corkboard. It doesn't get changed that often to be honest, but I like the ease of just putting it up with a tack.
I also hang stuff with fishing wire from the ceiling. I have a display of kites in one room and insects in another. Everyone that sees them gets a big kick out of it.

@macintosh: I know! And we have a perfect big wall for it in the playroom, but the playroom is currently full of painting supplies for other rooms...

We just got asked this with DD1 and I said we're gonna have to make her a frame that she can put things in! It was a lot in her room. I want to take pics of a few drawings and then just junk the rest.
