We just found out we are expecting baby #2 in August 2018. My LO is almost 17 months old. She will have just turned two when the baby arrives. She currently takes her pacifier at naptime and bedtime. It is extremely rare if she gets it any other time. Our dentist and pediatrician says there is no rush to get rid of it since we are limiting it to her crib only. However, I was thinking it might be better to try to wean her off of it long before baby number two gets here and she start to regress or question as to why she can’t have hers but the baby can. I would love some feedback or suggestions on how to best handle this. Even if you tell me there’s no rush at this point. My main concern with her still having it is that if she wakes up from early at nap time or early in the morning, the only way she will go back to sleep is if we give her the pacifier. She is still taking two naps a day but we hope to be transitioning to one nap after the first of the year. Thanks!
PS- she also has a lovey that she only gets when she is sleeping. In my honest opinion, I don’t care if she carries that to college LOL
