With my first pregnancy, the Doppler picked up a heartbeat at 9 weeks.
I'm 9 weeks today with my second and the OB couldn't pick up a heartbeat so I have to go back next week and try again.
What is the earliest you were able to pick up a heartbeat through Doppler?

The first appointment I had after confirming my pregnancy was at 12 weeks, which is standard here in Canada. So that's when I heard her I think?

Man, i can't remember. I think they did at my 10 or 12 week appointment but definitely not before that.

I found it at 8 weeks with my at-home Doppler with LO2, BUT I used it a LOT with LO1, so I knew exactly where to go. It also took a looong time, much longer than the OBs had ever tried. I'm pretty sure they never tried before 10 weeks and I know at my 12 week appt with LO2, they couldn't find it, so they sent me for an ultrasound.

I found it at 10 weeks on my own but the dr didn't use the Doppler until 12 weeks.

Not completely sure, but I think they tried at my 8 week appt and couldn't (and they had warned me that they probably wouldn't be able to) then my next appt was 12 weeks and they heard it easily. I think it was the same this time.

OK, thanks guys, I feel better. I was trying hard not to worry or be too concerned, but couldn't help but feel a little worried (even though the OB warned me it would be hit or miss).

10w6d was the first I tried. Even at 12 weeks my
OB had a tough time finding it.

I had one at home. I probably started trying around 8/9 weeks but finally heard it briefly around 10 weeks.

At my 8 week appointment they did an ultrasound so they didn't try with a Doppler. At 2 of my 3 twelve week appointments, they had a hard time finding it but eventually did

My OB didn't try until 16 weeks. I had ultrasounds at 6, 9, and 12 weeks.

@pinkcupcake: when I was pregnant with my son at my 8 week appointment (was almost 9 weeks at the time) I asked if they could do it. She said no as you can't hear it until at least 10 weeks. She then felt my uterus during the exam and said hmm maybe we can hear it. So she tried and couldn't, lol. I was a bit worried but she assured me it's totally normal and rare to hear before 10 weeks.

First one w ob was at 11 weeks and he couldn't find one but he didn't try for very long and did a quick ultrasound.
I found one at home that night.

My midwife won't try before 12 weeks because she says it stresses people out if she can't find it.

@QBbride: I'm similar. I'll check starting at 10 weeks if the patient is thin and if I can't hear it I do an ultrasound. otherwise I wait until 12 weeks.

I got it at home starting at 9 weeks but I was skinny and had the doppler basically right on my pubic bone almost. My OB won't try until 12 weeks bc he doesn't want to stress out his patients if he can't find it.

@pinkcupcake: My doctor couldn't find mine at my 10 week appointment so she did a quick ultrasound. At my 14 week appointment she found it with the doppler.

I was 10 weeks and a couple of days, and it took a long time and even once the midwife found it, I couldn't even hear it, only she could.

I did not hear the heartbeat until my anatomy scan. But we saw it on ultrasound at 8 weeks.
