I'm pretty self conscious about my body, especially since having my son 16 months ago. I'm looking at swimwear online and I just can't imagine finding anything I'll feel good in. I'm size 8-10 in bottoms and carry most of my weight in my hips/love handles. Plus things are soooo soft after having M.

@ladybee: I'm wondering this myself. A few months ago I bought a J.Crew one-piece on clearance and didn't think to try it on, assuming it was bigger than my normal size anyway. Well I finally tried it on last week and I looked like a sausage. So...starting over now.

I typically buy from Amazon or Zappos (free returns and try on at home!). I carry my weight in the same area. I swear by little shorts with cinch sides (like these http://www.amazon.com/Womens-Anne-Cole-Brief-Large/dp/B00S5BX6FM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1424534048&sr=8-2&keywords=cinch+bottoms+swimwear) and then pair it with Lole Jamaica tankini top (http://www.lolewomen.com/lww0101.html). I have a couple of pairs of the cinch shorts, and usually every year I splurge on a new Jamaica top. I really like the Jamaica because it doesn't cling like most tankinis but it also doesn't fly up.

Lands End and Athleta. They have lots of styles and the quality is good. I am hard on swimwear and these brands last and look good. I really like the LE swim miniskirts (they cover the rear, but still show some leg) and the scrunch-tie Athleta bottoms that are sort of boyshort cut. I am a huge fan of rashguards too--less sunscreen to put on!
Also, I live at the beach and it's the last place anyone is going to judge you, so don't judge yourself. Just jump in and have fun!

@ladybee: I ordered online... and i ordered 2 different size tops and 2 bottoms... I have macy's card and a store around the corner. I much prefer trying on swimwear at home ...lol

@ladybee: I got my last one-piece at Target. It fits okay, but I'm not that tall, so it bunches in the butt.

I usually get mine from Victoria's Secret. Last year I found a really great one piece that showed off the skinny parts and covered up my not-so-cute post-baby belly. I hate having to order online sight unseen so I like being able to go in and try on pieces.

I bought a Seafolly bathing suit once, and I am never going back! Super flattering and high quality.
Also, Albion Fit has some really great suits that are designed for moms and are modest/flattering but still really adorable.

@hotchildinthecity: I'm the same although I always buy them online. But I can only wear bra sized swimsuits from companies that actually make bras. Nothing else is supportive enough for my chest size.

I was happy with the Athleta suit I got last summer. I'm a big fan of a cute rash guard with a supportive top underneath. They have sales fairly frequently and free shipping both ways if you spend over $50, so I just ordered a ton and tried on at home during nap time.

@ladybee: It might also be worth looking into the Hapari swimsuits? They have a famous bottom called the "tummy tuk" that is supposed to be very flattering.

Swimsuit is so hard after having a baby. For me, most stores don't carry up to my size so I bought a lot online and returned even more! I can't wear a one suit-I'm just way too tall and they all ride up so bad!
My favorite brand is La Blanca! The shirred bottom covers just what it needs to and the tankini is ruched in all the right places. I also have the bikini version and it fits great. For the bottom, I went one size up and I have zero muffin top

@sunny: oh my gosh, I have that exact same suit but in plain black. I think that style top is called the goddess? I love it! I wish I had that floral pattern though, it's adorable.
