I have been mostly swimming indoors (for exercise, not for fun) but my belly is so veiny that I think I would prefer a tankini. I actually am pretty comfortable with my pregnant body, but I like to keep the roadmap under wraps.

If you are comfortable with your pregnant belly, I say flaunt the bump in s bikini.

i'm not confident enough to rock a bikini even when not pregnant! haha

I got this maternity tankini top (seperates, so I got the top only) and have been wearing it with my existing tie-side bikini bottoms, because I have 3 different pair in various black and white prints, so I mix and match. It was on sale, and when it arrived, the straps were a little long for me, so I just took them up a little (by hand, doing a horrible job) so I'd have more boob support.

I should say...I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant now, so I'm pretty huge. And already have some stretch marks, so I wouldn't be wearing a bikini at this point. I didn't get the stretch marks until 31 weeks though, so since you aren't that far along, you could probably get by in a bikini this summer, if you want to.

I am planning to rock a bikini because I just don't want to spend the money on a maternity suit that I'll only wear a handful of times!

I got a tankini so that I could cover the bump when it's too sunny, and so that I could kind of grow into it. You can also fold it up to get some sun. I was a bit nervous about wearing bikini bottoms more so than the top because my pant size went up in the 3rd trimester. So the tankini covered any potential problems along my hips. -- my old bikinis just weren't fitting right!

I got an Old Navy one. It fits nicely! This is what I looked like at 30 weeks in it.

Rock the bikini! Last weekend was my first pregnant beach outing & all I have are two pieces. No ones eyes were burned as far as I'm aware.

I would have rocked the bikini once I was noticably pregnant, but worn a tankini until I popped because I felt like I just looked chubby for a long time. But we didn't go anywhere beachy while I was KU, maybe next time!

@Pepper: I pretty much have last year's version of that same top, that my friend loaned me (she only loaned the top, btw, we aren't sharing bathing suit bottoms!). You look great!

@ms.janedoe: Ugh but I HATE going to the bathroom in a one piece, and I'm doing that, like, every 6 minutes these days. Wet bathing suits are just the worst.

I totally rocked a bikini! Except I had LO in February so bikini season also coincided with the awkward bloated / not-quite-popped stage of pregnancy. Either way, I wore one and felt great! I wear a bikini now even though I'm not super pleased with my body these days.

I have a tankini. I am not brave enough to rock a bikini with this huge belly. I think bikinis look sooooo cute on other pregnant ladies though!

I was 34 weeks pregnant on our beach trip last summer. I brought a tankini but ended up rolling it up most of the time (it was a non-maternity tankini, so it was too short on my belly). If I could do it over again I would have just brought a bikini...the rolled up bit did sort of weird things to my boobular area.

I'm thinking bikini since I'll be less than 12 weeks for most of the summer! Depends on the bloat though!

I'm due in August and plan on doing a tankini set if I can find something. I really will likely swim only a couple of times. I don't have any stretch marks and my pregnant belly isn't too scary, but my linea nigra is pretty dark and kinda bugs me

I got a tankini since that's what I wear anyway. I have the black and white polka dot destination maternity one someone posted above.

I'm 39 weeks pregnant though, so wanting to keep that under wraps. But I think if you're only so far along and happy with your body you should totally rock the bikini.

I bought this tankini from motherhood - I must say i love the bottoms their just plain black but they fit nicely, no wedgie and they come up high enough in back so no crack. I havent worn a "full" bathing suit since i was a kid and i considered rocking a bikini but none of my tops fit my new rack so i splurged on this one. Definitely felt more comfortable on the public beaches
