I think we're going to get a flag and install the holder this weekend, finally! It always made me feel bad not having one - it was so much fun putting up the flag on holidays as a kid.
I'm just not sure where I should install it...is yours next to your front door? Above it? In front of your garage? Somewhere else?

Ours is to the left of our front door. That part of the house sits more forward than the front door does, if that makes sense.

We don't have one, its not very common in this area. But our neighbors across the street have a full on pole in front of their house. I'm not sure I've ever seen it with a flag though.

We don't have one now (rental), but my parents always put it on one of the posts of the front porch.

By the front door... though we don't use it. It was there when we moved in. When we bought the house a sad, old torn up flag was there. We took it down and just haven't replaced it. We just aren't "flag" people.
Our neighbors have a flag pole in their front yard they maintain. They even put it at half mast when appropriate. I think its kinda neat.

It's on the right hand side of the front door, but we don't plan to put a flag out there.

We don't have one, but I think about getting one every Memorial Day and 4th of July. We'd have to install it on one of our front porch columns.

@regberadaisy: I think you can also hang bunting or stick a mini-flag in something so it's not permanent

We have a flag pole. We leave the flag up year round so it has to be replaced every year or two...luckily it's a civic right to a free flag each year so we just stop by our MLA's office in April/May when they come in. It's first come first serve.

Ours is to the right of our walkway over the landscaped area. We don't have a flag in it though.
