We have to send our 4 month old son to daycare next week and we're still waffling about which one to go with. So I thought I'd ask for advice from parents that have experience with daycare. Both are similarly priced and both had teachers that seemed warm and friendly. Both claim to have low turn over.

Great ratio daycare
Pros:
- 10:3 ratio of kids to teachers in the infant room
- Close to our house and very close to my work
Cons:
- generally seem more strict about rules (throw out breastmilk from unfinished bottles, sick policy, etc)
- kid has to be there by 9 am. My husband sometimes doesn't work until 12, so would like the option to drop off later in the morning, but they won't allow that

Great hours daycare
Pros:
- Hours are 7 am - 10 pm M-F, and 10 am - 12 a Sat, we get 50 hours that can be spread however. So if we only send him a half day one day we can drop him off for an evening or Saturday date
- More lax about rules (would let me keep a frozen bottle of breastmilk there for emergencies, would let him come with a fever if he's only teething, etc.)
Cons:
- State mandated ratio (5:1 or 12:2)
- Farther from our house and my work (close to husband's work)

So which would you pick and why? What things do you think are most important? What other things should I be asking about?

Thanks!

Edited to add a poll!
