Mother's Day is a little tricky, as it's not always clear who who it is for (you and your SO's mom? The mother of your own children?) and who should plan it.
Do you plan Mother's Day, or does your SO? Your kids? Nobody?

I usually have a say in it, if not just plan it all with everyone else.

Me, but that's how we do things. My husband really wants to celebrate me and to show his love, but planning things is not his strong suit. So I decide what I want and he makes it happen. It works really well.

I do. Since it's always my birthday weekend and my Mom & MIL are flexible. Sometime we plan something then just invite them.

I have planned it the last few years. We go out for lunch with my mom and DH's mom and his sister and her in laws. There's usually 12-15 of us. The moms are also all going to Kinky Boots in Toronto next weekend and we made the boys buy us our tickets!

My dad and I made a plan this year and told my siblings. Everyone is coming to our house for dinner on Sunday evening. Dad is getting takeout and I'm making dessert. DH's family never makes plans for anything! We will be going out of with the ILs next weekend so we will try to treat MIL to a meal or something. And I told DH I want him to take me and LO out for dinner tomorrow.

We usually all go to my parents for dinner so dh plans our morning/early afternoon. He'll ask me beforehand whether I want to go out or sleep in/relax.

Mother's Day is typically to celebrate my MIL. For the first few years, DH kind of forgot that it's also a day to celebrate me. Oops! Usually we hang out with my in-law's. DH has full control over the morning activities, and he usually lets me sleep in and eat breakfast in bed.

I just tell DH what I want to do. It has always been easy as English Mother's Day, which is where our mums live, is before Easter. I had my kids in Canada where Mother's Day is much later so we made the first day about our mums and the second about me.
