I'm so upset right now. I was just away for a week and came back to my little cool select draw with a layer of frozen ice on the bottom. My 4 Gonal pens along with the Lupron were in the back left and the bottoms were soaked and caked with ice. I opened one up and it didn't seem to be frozen, I could still get the bubble to move in it. But is that too cold?? Did I ruin them??

Yea, I sent them an email already. I'm just too impatient to see what they have to say and wanted to see if anyone else may know.

Obviously I'm not a doctor or a pharmacist, but I would think its ok if they didn't fully freeze. If I remember correctly, the boxes had a min and max temp that the pens should be kept at. Does it say?

I think the docs office would require to tell me it's not ok to use, just like ones past 28 days since first injection. But I just went and tested the drawer out with a temp gun I have. Stupid me. The back corner where I had it measured coldest at 28-20 deg, but the front was around 36. The actual draw an anything touching it coldest, but I'm thinking the air temp at the top would be above freezing. I'm going use them and just see how I respond when it comes time and bite the bullet and buy new ones if it doesn't seem to be effective at my first check.

I would say it's ok - the main thing is that a) they're not frozen or b) they've been kept cool. My clinics always used to stress the COLD aspect. x

I had a pen left over with 300iu I was going to use (grrrrrrrr), but that one was open and pretty much in the ice yesterday. The air bubbled still moved, so nothing seemed to freeze all the way. Though I don't know if gonal would freeze solid. I decided I should toss that one now, but threw that one in the freezer this morning to see if they freeze solid. Hope it does so, that'll make me feel better about the rest of them being ok.

In case anyone wants to know the outcome of Gonal freezing experiment...the pen I threw in the freezer this morning did completely freeze solid like water does. *phew* So none of them actually froze, even the one that was out sitting right on top of the ice. I'm pretty confident that the ones in the boxes as far from the ice as they could get are ok now! *happy dance*
