Are any of you going through a supply hit due to taking allergy medicine?
I was told that Claritin is safe for nursing, so I've been taking that since I pump and if I skip a day allergies kick my butt. But my supply has been really reduced.
What do you take for allergy relief while pumping/nursing?

I use Rhinocourt nasal spray and my supply has been fine. I too need my daily allergy meds or I'm a mess. I think the antihistamines are the ones that can really affect supply so I avoid those. My doc recommended Rhinocourt as it's safe for BF'ing, but it is prescription only.

@Ree723: Thank you. I have an over-the-counter nasal spray that I'll try. If this doesn't work, I'll email my doctor.

a LC told me that allergy meds dry up your milk so I use a neti pot or saline spray since my supply is pretty non existent.

I use Claritin as needed but not daily. I also take allergy shots every two weeks. I haven't seen a significant hit to my supply but I also have a serious oversupply

I have really been struggling too! Allergies are really bad here this year:(

Thanks all. Turns out that it was allergies, plus a period. On Friday I produced less than 9 ounces, but now we are moving back in the right direction.
