I became friends with a mom from my daughter's previous daycare. She and I are still friends and it is a great relationship. I don't seem to have much in common with a lot of the moms at my daughter's current school. I'm okay with that. We don't live near her school so I figure I will probably meet more moms closer to our home when she starts K.

Yes but mostly because they live in our town - our town has a monthly Mom's Night Out and I met / got to know a lot of daycare moms better through those events. A friend and I also organized a dinner for all the moms in the preschool class because there were quite a few we hadn't met yet. It was a great night and way to get to know people without the (demanding) kids around

We've switched daycare/preschools a handful of times due to moves, but I would say there are always 1-2 that I seem to run into often and hit it off with. I'm also hoping that now that we are a little more settled and starting K in a year, we'll have meet more and have more consistency too!

I've just recently become pretty friendly with one daycare mom, she's the only other native English speaker. The others seem nice and will say hello and maybe chat a few minutes, but there is definitely a language barrier.

I talk regularly with one from her old school. But I haven't met any of the Mom's at her new school.

Not really. There is one lady I have talked to, but our schedules are so different that I rarely see her except for the occasional early pick-up.

Yes, but we were already friends and she's the reason I chose that daycare.

Yep. I have an awesome mom squad that I met through our day care
We group text 9,000 times a day and hang out pretty much all the time. We all went to one house after school on Monday for a play date, one of them is coming to my house tomorrow with her husband and daughter so they can babysit my kids while my husband and I go on a date. Its awesome.

At the old school not so much. Their hours were 6:30 to 6:30 so there was a wide range of drop off and pick up times. It also was in an odd location so there were a lot of various work/home locations of the families that went there.
At this new school, its a much shorter window (7:30-5:30) so it caters to people that work down town. We have also met 3 people that will go to our zoned elementary school.

Yes, but she's also our next door neighbour and I knew her before the boys started daycare.

Not really. LO’s daycare is on my work campus so I work with a fair number of her classmates’ moms and/or dads, and we are all friendly but we don’t hang out or anything outside of birthday parties.

Yes! It took a few years for the friendships to develop.

Yes. It's great. So much better for the kids too, we've had some kids move or leave the day care, and it was so nice when we could still call them and meet up... and so sad if we didn't know the parents so the kids had no way to keep in touch.

I'm friends with one. Our LOs are only two weeks apart in age. Our daycare holds family potlucks which is really nice for getting to know other parents.

There is one I am. Her DD and my DD have continuously moved up classrooms together (Education based Childcare center). The Mom is Active duty military and went through a big event with DH where we got to know her even more. We don't hang out a lot. But will go to events for the kiddos occasionally.
