What age did they get their first bite of solids?
When you started offering solids regularly, was it rice cereal? Purees? BLW? Other?

@Smurfette: Did she love it?

1 week prior to six months. We did rice cereal for a couple days to get her used to the texture and she went crazy for it. Next we did avocado which she also liked (but now hates!).
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
A few days shy of 6 months (wanted to fit it in before her we'll check in case we had any issues). We did mostly breast milk mixed with rice cereal

Around 5 months. He was so interested in food. He was constantly begging for bites off our plate -- so I felt bad waiting any longer. I think his first good was banana. He's been a great eater ever since and hasn't really met a food he doesn't enjoy!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: so so but we did oatmeal like a week later and she couldn't get enough of it. She is an eater!

I am hoping to start my baby on purees at four months, solids at six. I know it's way early, but I am hoping it will make her time away from me (when I'm working) easier for everyone. She cries bloody murder when the boob isn't available:(

Just shy of 6 months. Started with squash, avocado, etc. We weren't systematic, did blw style, purees, finger feeding, etc. he was hesitant at first, but loves food now at 10 months!

We started with baby cereal and purees at 5 months. It took awhile, but he did well. Now solids and table foods are another story. He's 1 year old now and I'm struggling to get him to eat a variety of things. Take my advice....do table foods as soon as you can! Like even if it's just a bite here and there. I will not make the mistake with my next child to mainly start off with purees.

A little after 6 months and we do a combo of blw (mostly soft stuff like banana or cantaloupe) or mashed fruit/veggies.

A few days after 6 months. We tried starting with BLW and did avocado and then sweet potato the next night, but I couldn't handle the gagging so we switched to purees and mashes

A little before 6 months. I gave her half a banana and let her gnaw on it. After that we tried avocado. She liked the avocado better.
