For those of you who make your own baby food, did you follow any recipes or buy any books, or did you just puree regular veggies. I've seen some books on amazon and I wonder if any of them are worth buying?

I've just been checking wholesomebabyfoods.com.
Every mom I've talked to IRL who makes their own purees use that site.

I used wholesomebabyfoods.com as well, but liv didnt eat purees so we went to baby led weaning. From my friend's advice, they all said skip the baby food books, especially the Beaba one

I bought a book, but it wasn't really worth it. Every recipe was the same. steam, puree, strain. Steam, puree, strain.

I received one as a gift and I love it. The nice thing is that it's divided into stages, so they have the simple purees for 4-6 months, then at 6-8 months they start doing a few compination purees. At 9+ they actually give you family recipes and ways to make it for baby. Which is so awesome because essentially you want your baby to eat what you eat.
I like it - but if I hadn't received it as a gift I probably wouldn't have bought it just because I don't see the point of baby cookbooks. But you could check some out from the library and see if you think they're worth buying.

@Mrsbells: It said to do it when they're new eaters. Not everybody does it, I guess just to be safe.

@Mrsbells: Oh one more note, in many of their recipes they add sweetener (usually pure maple syrup) which I think for a baby is completely unnecessary..
