I've seen some suggestions for the Dr. Sears pineapple tray, but I'm pretty sure my kid eats twice that amount of food at lunch. Can anyone suggest a particular bento box that's about twice that size?
In the past, we've just sent LO to daycare with like seven different little small tupperware containers, but daycare is requesting that we streamline things, so I was thinking bento box.
My other question is: typically some of the containers we send for LO's lunch are supposed to be heated, while some are eaten straight out of the fridge. How do you handle this with a bento? I've seen moms send bentos with a combo of things like fruit and yogurt (which would normally NOT be heated) and mac and cheese and meatballs (which I WOULD heat at home normally). Does your LO just eat everything cold?
There is a fridge for storage at daycare, and a microwave. LO usually eats lunch plus two snacks while he's there for the day. Should I send three separate bento-ish containers, and just stick all the heatable stuff in one container so they can microwave the whole thing? Are any bento boxes microwave safe?
