A standard ziplock bag worked best for us! We'd just pour the milk into an ice cube tray and then pop the frozen ice cubes out into a ziplock bag. Easy peasy and no expensive bags to buy!

I like Lansinoh because I freeze mine flat so I can rotate my stash easily. Medela freezes into a wedge.

@grizz: agreed. i HATED the medela bags and immediately used that milk to switch them out to lansinoh.

@birdofafeather: @grizz: @Bao: @chopsuey: Why did you end up liking that one best?

@Mrs. High Heels: Did you try other brands and then decide on that one? What made you choose it?

@citymouse: I freeze all my milk flat and then stack it upright in a bin in my chest freezer, so i can easily use my oldest milk first. Lansinoh bags seem to work the best for that for me.

@citymouse: I've used Lansinoh and Medela bags too. Lansinoh leaked on me a couple times, but I agree with @grizz: that they freeze flat the best. The Honeysuckle ones are stronger and sturdier than the rest... it also has a double zipper. The material feels thicker, and it's also made of eco-friendly material. It's also the cheapest!

@citymouse: they freeze flat great and I had no issues with leaking. They always sealed nicely too.

@citymouse: I think the plastic seemed a little thicker or sturdier on the Honeysuckle ones if that makes sense. I also use the Lansinoh ones occasionally since I have a bunch of them and haven't run into any issues.

@citymouse: I've used Medela (everyone is right, they suck), Lansinoh (good) and Target up and up. The Target ones are my fave now. They somehow freeze flatter than the Lansinoh, are made of thicker plastic, have a double zip....I just like them best now. Sounds lie the Honeysuckle are similar...I should try those, too.

Honeysuckle user here too after I saw @Mrs. High Heels: recommend it. I went for it since it's cheaper. I think they are very comparable to the Lansinoh bags.

@citymouse: but as Ree723 mentioned, using ice cubes or something like this makes sense for when you want to be able to thaw only an ounce or two at a time. Using the expensive bags to freeze just an ounce or two would get very pricy. You can pour the ilk into these 1 once cue trays, then transfer the frozen cubes to gallon ziplocks in your freezer.

I tried Medela and Lansinoh brand and liked Lansinoh better. I liked that Medela bags can be hooked right to the pump so it eliminates washing another bottle. However, I could only pour 5 oz at most. I liked that Lansinoh has a double zip and can hold twice as much as Medela bag. Lansinoh bags are cheaper than Medela.

@Anagram: I used these.. Unfortunately my milk didn't keep nearly as well using this storage method and I ended up throwing away AT LEAST 40 oz. The little milk cubes had little icicles on them and after defrosting, the milk didn't smell very fresh.. Milk that was stored in bags smelled much better. @ 2 months I started using honeysuckle bags. If you pump a lot, bag are the way to go..
