DD is 10 months old and just started drinking water out of her Zoli cup. I love it because she can hold the handles and drink without my assistance. She previously could drink out of a sippy, but I had to hold it/tip it up for her.
We just got a Ninja and I made a smoothie for her and me and I realized that there is no way a Zoli would work for a smoothie. So bees, since you helped me find the Zoli, help me find a straw cup (with handles preferably?) for her to drink some smoothies! TIA!

lollacup! the straw opening is wider than the zoli so it's perfect for smoothies!

For smoothies I like the Take and Toss cups because the straw is thick plastic, the pieces are easy to clean, and they're inexpensive. {For everything else we use a Camelbak.}

Take and toss!! The straw is super wide and easy to use for thicker things like smoothies. I just would be careful using it on the go, as it can leak a bit if turned upside down.
The Nuby straw cup is also not bad for smoothies.

@MsMini: @betsyboop: that looks awesome, but i'm kinda balking at the price tag for one cup. i love that it looks just like the zoli and she would be able to drink and hold it easily though! 
@shinymama: @septca: @hilsy85: i like inexpensive for this since i'm not doing food on the go yet. are those easy for your kids to hold? i'm trying to get her to be more independent with food to give me some free time to eat/drink myself!
@oliviaoblivia: too funny! she drank my smoothie out of my straw this morning, but i had to hold it for her and it was tough when she was trying to get the last bits out because she had to suck pretty hard to get it all the way up the straw.

@birdofafeather: they don't have handles but LO is able to pick it up with both hands! Or if we're at the table I might hold it for him.

We use Take and Toss cups for smoothies too. To make clean up faster, we use disposable straws instead of the plastic ones they come with. We use flexible straws too, so it's easier for her to drink. I found the Lollacup to be great at first, but leaky after some time. Take and Toss isn't leak-proof though either, but I supervise her closely with it and you can't beat the price!

This one. Just beware, when you flip the straw open, whatever is trapped in there tends to splatter a bit!

Have you seen the cheap, seasonal, straw cups at Target? They are like $3. They have a bigger straw. Not sure how thick your smoothies are though. K has this kitty one.
