I have a terrible cough and its worse at night. When I'm trying to put DD to sleep I cough and it wakes her up and I have to start all over. Does anyone know of a BF friendly cough drop I can use? I know ricola is not BF friendly because of sage. I had to take one this morning because I couldnt stop coughing. Water helps sometimes but not aways. I have two humidifiers running and they're within 2 ft of where I am. Honey doesn't help at all. I dont know what to do please help!

I'm sorry you are going through this! I didn't realize ricola was not bf friendly, I took it all the time without any adverse affects. Kelly mom has a list of home remedies, maybe give one of those a try? http://kellymom.com/bf/can-i-breastfeed/meds/cold-remedy/#throat
I also like the Throat Coat tea, maybe that would help.

@t-mom thank you. I actually use Throat Coat too but the licorice root is not bf friendly but I use it sparingly because it does help.

I never thought to check if it was bf friendly (#momfail!) but I used sucrets for the exact same thing. Nothing worse than coughing and having to restart everything :S
