I'm 6 months pp and mine hasn't returned yet but DH is horny as ever so it's been a real problem for us. We have talked about it a lot and did start doing 'something' every other day but it got too much for me honestly and I was feeling so touched out after getting the baby down that I just wanted some me time, not sexy time. In the end we agreed to have a 2 week break from it as I was feeling hassled and he was feeling rejected and neither of those feelings are fun. I'm hoping that break spices it up a bit and turns it around. I do really fancy him but I just don't care about sex right now. Breastfeeding is great for mum and baby but not so great for husband and wife, I think.

We're at 7 months pp...things got more normal around 6 months pp, but still not like it was before baby for me.

Have you had your period yet? I'm not BFing, but my sex drive came back with my first PP period (just like @Mrs. Twine). Obviously mine just came back sooner -- 8 weeks. I don't know if it's the Mirena or my hormones leveling out, but girl... I'm like a freakin' cat in heat.

I get annoyed with him for little things that make him seem less sexy to me, if that makes sense (like playing golf on his day off and staying at the bar after) that I then don't want anything to do with him, where as before it didn't bother me.

@photojane: Haha! I just got Mirena on Friday, hope it gives me the same affect but doubtful since I am still BF. Another reason I am ready to be done with it!!

Same as the ladies above, it took the first pp period at 10 months. One if the few benefits of getting AF!

I don't think BFing really affected my sex drive. We were doing it at 6 weeks pp and we got into our usual "routine" about 13 weeks pp. Certain positions still hurt, but we got creative.

Another one here also in the camp of not seeing a return of my old sex drive until AF came back at about 8.5 months pp, and even then, it was a gradual return. I'm still BF'ing exclusively, other than solids, and LO will be 11 months old tomorrow, but I can safely say our sex life is 100% back on track now!

Pre pregnancy we were every-day sort of people, now it's more like twice a month and has been for 8 months since lo was born. Haven't had AF yet so I wonder if that has something to do with it?

I think my low sex drive was more related to the mini pill than breastfeeding. I BF until DS was 13 months and was on the pill about 9 more months until we started TTC again. Within about 2 cycles of coming off the pill I was back to maybe 80% of my old self whereas with the pill I never wanted to have sex. It really put a strain on our marriage because, like you, we were very hot and heavy pretty much until DS was born.

The one plus side to having AF return, sex drive picked up when she came back at 4.5 months!

STTN, weaning, and scheduling brought back the sex drive for me. My sex drive is low on HBC too. I can't wait to get off of it because for me, it's a drive killer.

@ladyfingers: I'm in the same boat as you! We have done it twice...but both times I cried uncle out of pain. That's at 11 weeks pp. I promised I would try more but have no desire to!
